- Design and develop mechanical components for power and distribution transformers
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models aligned with specifications
- Perform calculations for strength vibration thermal expansion and structural integrity
- Partner with electrical engineers to deliver optimized integrated designs
- Support manufacturing teams with technical guidance and design improvements
- Participate in design reviews risk assessments and FMEA activities
- Collaborate with suppliers on material selection and component validation
- Contribute to testing troubleshooting and continuous product improvement
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience in mechanical design ideally in transformers or heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of materials fabrication methods and mechanical design principles
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD Creo or Inventor
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE ANSI CSA)
- Analytical mindset with strong problemsolving and attention to detail
