Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Lean Manufacturing

Job Summary
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to lead process improvement operational excellence and manufacturing optimization initiatives across production operations. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on the shop floor collaborates closely with operators and cross-functional teams and delivers measurable improvements in safety quality productivity throughput and cost reduction.
The successful candidate will own manufacturing processes from evaluation through implementation applying Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement and quality management system principles to drive operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing process improvement and process redesign initiatives.
- Evaluate workstation-level operations and implement improvements in tooling fixtures gauges presses material handling systems and workflow design.
- Develop and maintain FMEAs Control Plans work instructions and process documentation to support quality and compliance requirements.
- Partner with Operations Quality Maintenance and Engineering teams to resolve production quality capacity and equipment performance issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support new product launches process validations and PPAP submissions.
- Create and maintain manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs).
- Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on waste reduction throughput improvement inventory reduction and process standardization.
- Design and improve manufacturing layouts tooling and inspection methods.
- Analyze production metrics and implement solutions that improve safety quality delivery and cost performance.
- Develop capital equipment recommendations and support manufacturing investment planning.
- Train and mentor production and engineering personnel on manufacturing best practices.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to support product and process requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Technology Physical Science or related field.
- 510 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a production environment.
- Proven success leading process integration process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimum 5 years of Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting complex mechanical assembly operations.

- AutoCAD (ACAD) experience.
- Tool design and development experience.
- Supervisory or people leadership experience.
- Experience presenting engineering solutions to customers and executive leadership.
- Capital equipment planning and budgeting experience.
- Experience mentoring engineers or production personnel.
Quality & Compliance
Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments and familiarity with:
- IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
- Manufacturing process documentation and compliance requirements
