This Opportunity:
The Sustainable Infrastructure team part of the broader EconomicGrowth & Natural Capital (EGNC) Portfolio partners with mining companiesto design and implement positive impact programssuch as workforce skillingreforestation and sustainable agriculturethat benefit mining communities andregions. The team works across the entire mining life cycle helping clientsachieve ESG targets while building the foundation for community resiliencebeyond mine closure. The team draws on expertise from the wider EGNC portfoliowhich also works with private sector clients as well as philanthropic bodiesand diverse donors (IDB USDA AFD WB) to support agricultural value chaindevelopment enhance womens access to finance and mobilize capital forclimate-positive initiatives. Palladium isseeking a Senior Manager Sustainable Infrastructure - Oil & Gas to bringteam management experience and technical acumen to both business developmentand project delivery. The role will focus on oil and gas sector clients acrossthe value chain including upstream midstream and downstream operations aswell as associated infrastructure such as pipelines LNG terminals shippingand logistics storage and refining assets. Competitive candidates shoulddemonstrate experience working with these types of assets on ESG strategyimpact program design and implementation including workforce developmentlocal content economic diversification community investment and integrationof ESG considerations into operational contexts. The Senior Manager will alsocontribute to business development efforts including strategic planningportfolio forecasting proposal development partnering networking andrecruitment. Fluency in English and one other additional language French(preferred) Spanish Arabic or Portuguese is required.
Location and Compensation:
The position can be based out of Palladiums Arlington VA officeor remote in the United States (only some states may be considered). Applicantsmust have current/future work authorization in the US as visa sponsorshipcannot be provided.
The annual base salary for this position is expected to range from$120000 to $140000. Please be advised that a final salary offer will be basedon various factors including but not limited to your qualificationseducation experience skills seniority performance and Palladiums businessor organizational needs.
This role is also posted in the UK; however there is only one available position.
Reporting Lines:
- This role reports to the Director Sustainable Infrastructure (UK based)
PrimaryRoles and Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality client-focused results across complex assignments
- Oversee proposal development budgeting project planning implementation and reporting to ensure timely and effective delivery
- Identify engage and manage partners and subcontractors to strengthen technical quality and delivery capacity
- Manage partner and subcontractor performance to ensure contractually compliant delivery of agreed inputs outputs and outcomes
- Serve as Project Director providing quality assurance for deliverables and oversight of budgets client relationships and overall project performance
Business Development
- Contribute to the identification assessment and pursuit of new business opportunities with a focus on expanding Palladiums engagement with oil and gas companies and operators of associated infrastructure (pipelines LNG terminals shipping/logistics storage and refining)
- Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals principally targeting private sector and blended finance opportunities with oil and gas clients (focus on ESG strategy impact program design and implementation local content economic diversification and regional development initiatives linked to energy infrastructure)
Technical Work
- Work with the team to develop short-term inputs and/or consultancy assignments on topics such as economic development local content workforce development ESG strategy and inclusive business models in oil and gas and related infrastructure contexts
- Lead technical input into the design planning and delivery of ESG and impact initiatives driven by oil and gas operators and infrastructure developers including pipelines LNG terminals shipping/logistics corridors and refining operations that engage private sector impact funders or development organizations to co-invest in positive impact
- Contribute to research analysis and publication of technical reports case studies policy/program approaches and results summaries on themes related to ESG performance in the energy sector community resilience regional economic development and transition in oil and gas dependent regions
- Help to identify build and maintain relationships with partners and consultants that can provide technical expertise to Palladium-managed projects
Stay current on trends and tendencies in the oil and gas sector and track structural governance and ESG target changes for key clients across upstream midstream downstream and infrastructure segments - Work with others in the EGNC Portfolio to promote and build Palladiums technical capability especially regarding work with mining companies
EssentialCriteria:
- 7 years of senior-level experience in a client-facing management role on large private/public sector projects especially relating to oil and gas and/or associated infrastructure (pipelines LNG terminals shipping storage and refining) with exposure to ESG economic development or impact programming
- 5 years working directly with oil and gas companies operators or infrastructure developers as clients
- Fluency in English and at least another language in either French (preferred) Spanish Arabic or Portuguese
- Strong networks in the oil and gas and broader energy infrastructure sector
- Preference for experience managing teams across geographies and cultures
- Proven experience in or on emerging market issues and/or contexts
- Experience leading business development effortsand ability to leverage their own network activating new client portfolios quickly
CoreAbilities Required:
- Strong ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and/or complex projects/assignments as demonstrated by experience to date
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by speaking engagements and/or written documents produced
- Financial acumen and the ability to generate and analyze financial reports and forecasts using Excel
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated commitment to encourage diversity inclusion and equity in teams and programs
DesirableCriteria:
- Masters in Economics Social Sciences Business Administration International Development Political Science or related fields
- Experience engaging multisector stakeholders in oil & gas and related infrastructure communities and regions
- Proven ability to apply and adapt models and approaches to catalyzing enduring and inclusive economic growth in emerging markets
- Experience with conceptualizing and writing technical proposals and reports for private sector clients as well as international donors including both PowerPoint and text documents
- Experience with conceptualizing and delivering presentations to small and large groups both in-person and virtually
