Job Description:

The Associate Directorof Global Supply Chainisaccountable to lead a team of salaried(Supervisors and Planners)and hourlysupply chain staff in amanufacturing area.A leader in the organization you will be responsible for leading and guiding your team to successfully executingmaterial planning and scheduling receiving & storage assembly sequencing shipping inventory management engineering change management and supplier management.The role is responsible forimplementing the Allison Operational Excellence through exceptional collaboration leadership and guidance.This position also implements lean material principles and cost reduction initiatives and is expected to develop and execute departmental goals aligned with the organizations objectives.

Leadership / Managerial responsibilities:

Hire lead and manage a dynamic team to create an inclusive and collaborative work environment

  • Monitor evaluate and provide regular feedback on employee growth and implementing improvement as needed.

  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives to maintain a motivated workforce positively represent corporate communications to influence outcomes that support business strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with Allison Policies and manage employee relations matters as needed.

  • Directly manage a team of Supervisorsand Material Plannerswith indirect oversight of50 hourly employees.

  • Responsible for full employee life cycle including selection training development employee relations and performance management.

  • Responsible for performance management training and development of team members aligned with career ambitions and areas of opportunity to improve including annual performance reviews and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).

  • Leads team and implements departmental objectives aligned withplant& company objectives through day-to-day management annual performance reviews and corrective actions.

  • Create develop and sustain a can-do climate and high levels of frequent communication cooperation rewards and recognition training and mutual support among departments.

  • Guide team to solve complex and challenging situations as they arise.

  • Leadership / Managerial responsibilities:

    • Ensures Allison Transmission policies and procedures are adhered to and executed in area of responsibility.

    Union relationship management:

    • Engagement with shop committee

    • Grievance management

    • Adherence to Collective Bargaining Agreement

    Shopfloor Accountability:

    • Drive performance across area of responsibility aligned with overallplantobjectives and strategy.

    • Manages the execution of lean materials processes including the Kanban (pull) system min/max FIFO and risk alerts.

    • Manages outside non-routed & routed sub-contract and consignment processes to avoid plant impact.

    • Directs and manages inventory cycle counting activities in compliance with corporate guidelines.

    • Develops manpower plan to support overall customer demand and operations.

    • Manages receiving shipping and material storage in assigned plant and warehouse management movements where applicable.

    • Manages the planning scheduling and delivery performance of vendor supplied parts.

    • Communicates daily with external suppliers as well as third party logistics provider to ensure adherence to schedules and uninterrupted flow of material.

    • Manages the sequencing of the plant assembly line(s) to avoid customer impact.

    • Oversees and manages manufacturing bill-off-materials and engineering change management process.

    • Manages additional responsibilities scope as needed such as indirect materials (general stores) defective material return (DMR) shipping processes business development analyses etc.

    Strategic / Forward Looking Responsibilities:

    • Provide input to company budget and forecast processes managing budget in area of responsibility.

    • Supports plant rearrangements and capacity increases including planning and execution of required transitional bank inventories.

    • Support workforce planning activities based on company strategy and volumes to identify resource needs and training gaps.

    • Represents global supply chain interests in cross functional product line team analyzing business opportunities.

    • Forecasts and optimizes inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing working capital.

    • Manages recovery planning and prioritization of activities associated with internal disruptions to minimize impact to customer schedules.

    Qualifications:

    :

    • Bachelors degree in business Supply ChainEngineering or related field

    Preferred:

    • Mastersdegree inBusiness Supply Chainorcloselyrelated field

    • APICS CPIM SCM or related certification

    Experience:

    :

    • 5 years experience in leadership role.

    • 5 years experience in supply chain role supportingmanufacturing and/orwarehousing environments

    Preferred:

    • 7 yearsexperience in supply chain role supportingmanufacturing and/orwarehousing environments

    Scope Factors:

    • Manages a team of up to 10 salaried employees across multiple shifts.
