Senior Manager, Fund Accounting

Job Summary
An alternative asset manager is seeking a Senior Manager Fund Accounting to join its flagship private markets platform.
This is a newly created role driven by continued growth and offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated private equity and alternative investment strategies within a highly respected investment management firm. Youll play a key role in the accounting and financial reporting of complex closed-end funds while partnering closely with investment professionals client service teams and senior finance leadership.
What youll be doing:
- Maintain the books and records for private investment partnerships and separate accounts
- Account for and reconcile cash investments and other portfolio assets
- Record purchase and sale transactions including complex corporate actions
- Prepare monthly close entries accruals and reconciliations
- Calculate partner allocations distribution waterfalls capital calls and distributions
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting for investors and internal stakeholders
- Analyze fund and investment performance metrics
- Coordinate with auditors fund administrators custodians and prime brokers
- Support a variety of accounting reporting and operational initiatives across the private equity platform
Were looking for professionals with:
- 7 years of relevant accounting experience
- Combination of Big Four public accounting and in-house fund accounting experience preferred (exceptional candidates coming directly from Big Four will also be considered)
- Asset management experience is required
- Strong understanding of partnership accounting reconciliations and investment company accounting
- Experience with private investment funds and complex investment structures
- Knowledge of capital calls distributions partner allocations and waterfall calculations
- CPA preferred
- Experience with Geneva and/or Investran is highly desirable
- Strong analytical communication and problem-solving skills
