Our LYNX recruiting team is handling this recruitment internally.*******************************************************************************************Position Description: The Senior Manager of Facilities Maintenance is responsible for the overall management of LYNXs facilities maintenance department which includes the development of policies procedures programs and initiatives to ensure cost effective and efficient management of LYNXs facilities and structures. Essential Functions: This list is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification and is not designed to be interpreted as an exhaustive listing of all tasks required of employees assigned to the job. All jobs require regular and reliable coordinates supervises and evaluates the work of assigned staff; administers work assignments and monitors deadlines meets with staff regularly to identify and resolve problems; monitors staff adherence to departmental policies as well as state and federal rules and regulations develops and implements internal controls to ensure that all division policies and procedures are adhered to counsels employees to correct deficiencies and takes corrective action as necessary interprets and applies all pertinent provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreements and participates in the disciplinary process including conducting implements and manages a comprehensive facilities program for the servicing of LYNXs facilities and structures which includes implementing effective facilities maintenance policies and procedures preventive maintenance strategies and schedules proactive equipment management/replacement and conservative energy management Director of Maintenance on facilities-related matters that may have an adverse impact on operations and formulate suitable recommendations to mitigate impact on daily all LYNX facilities on a monthly basis reports findings and recommendations to Director of Maintenance and initiates and monitors remedial action as a work order system to track workflow and resources and assess work facilities-related service contracts and maintains constant communication with vendors to ensure contracted services are being rendered according to contract stipulations. Assists with the oversight of special projects; develops project budgets and tracks with the coordination of permit processes required by local regional and state jurisdictions and regulatory in the development and preparation of the divisions operating and capital budgets; identifies and recommends budgetary requirements including personnel and materials to ensure sufficient resources to provide safe and reliable bus service; monitors expenditures in accordance with financial guidelines to ensure budgetary controls and efficient operations; creates requisitions and processes invoices for facilities-related materials supplies and Qualifications:Bachelors degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in facilities management or facilities civil mechanical electrical engineering or a related field plus a minimum of five years experience in a management role with at least three of the five years directly supervising maintenance staff; or a combination of related education training and directly related experience beyond the minimum requirement may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year possess and maintain a valid Florida drivers license and safe driving Qualifications:Management experience in a union environment. Government public sector and/or transit work Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of building maintenance practices operational plans and of the principles and trends of transportation operations and maintenance of a wide variety of fixed facilities equipment and of preventative maintenance principles and quality of principles and practices of administrative and maintenance management quantitative analyses and data processing in order to develop useful management information and experience in developing budgets and forecasting of safety state and FTA regulations and quality assurance functions as it relates to OSHA and environmental in facility maintenance metrics reporting and proficient with various software applications including Microsoft in the principles of supervision training employee motivation and to execute a preventive maintenance program and recommend program modifications when to facilitate teamwork and provide leadership to supervisors and other to analyze and evaluate operations problems and recommend and/or implement effective to exhibit a professional courteous to work in a diverse environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer Environment and Special Considerations:Works in an office environmentand requires long periods seated. Works in maintenance shop environment and involves frequent walking or standing may include exposure to weather conditions various fumes and other chemical position requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive position requires the ability to verbally express or exchange ideas by means of spoken need to travel Phone Use Policy: The Agency anticipates that this positions incumbent must be available throughout the workday and on some occasions after regular work hours. Therefore as a condition of employment the incumbent will be issued a cell phone and must adhere to the agencys Wireless Communication Critical Workforce Member: LYNX provides the community with much needed public transportation and it is important for the Agency to resume its services as quickly and as safely as possible in the event of any natural technological or human-caused emergency or disaster. This position is considered a mission critical member of LYNXs emergency preparation and response efforts during an emergency or disaster and as such will be asked to work during these emergencies or disasters. Therefore mission critical team members are required to prepare their homes and family for the impending emergency at least 48 hours in advance.
