Senior Manager, ERP Applications

AECOM is seeking a Senior Manager ERP Applications to lead the enterprise systems that support project accounting and project financial processes across our global organization.

Reporting to the Director of Project Administration and Financial Systems this leader will own critical ERP applications supporting project costing billing revenue recognition and related project financial processes. The role will lead a blended team of internal employees and external delivery partners while partnering closely with Finance Project Controls Billing IT and other business stakeholders.

The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership deep knowledge of project accounting and project-based financial processes enterprise application ownership and the ability to translate complex business needs into practical technology solutions.

This role requires project-accounting depth beyond general finance ERP experience. The ideal candidate has experience supporting ERP applications used to manage the financial lifecycle of projects including areas such as project costing billing revenue recognition burdening/overhead allocation intercompany transactions transfer pricing or cross-charge.

Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite Projects or Oracle Fusion Cloud Project Management/PPM is preferred but candidates with comparable project-accounting experience in other enterprise ERP platforms will also be considered.

The role currently oversees approximately 45 direct team members while helping lead outsourced delivery resources within a broader global organization.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work to be based from either Houston or Dallas TX.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead coach and develop internal team members and outsourced delivery partners establishing priorities managing capacity and creating accountability for delivery quality service levels and results.
• Own and continuously improve ERP applications supporting project costing project billing revenue recognition burdening transfer pricing cross-charge and other project-accounting processes.
• Partner with Finance Controllership Billing Project Controls and other business stakeholders to understand business challenges clarify requirements and translate business needs into actionable functional solutions.
• Evaluate business requirements against ERP capabilities identify solution options and tradeoffs and partner with development integration reporting data and architecture teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Own production application support including incidents recurring problems service requests enhancements change control access audits and corrective actions.
• Lead ERP implementations conversions migrations upgrades and significant enhancements from requirements and functional design through configuration testing deployment and post-production stabilization.
• Ensure proposed solutions meet business requirements through functional validation testing user acceptance and release-readiness activities.
• Maintain an operational and enhancement roadmap balancing immediate business needs with longer-term application priorities.
• Contribute to ERP modernization cloud transformation architecture resource planning budgeting and future-state platform strategy.
• Build strong partnerships across technical and business teams and communicate priorities risks tradeoffs and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree plus at least 10 years of experience supporting implementing and maintaining enterprise project applications reports and interfaces including 3 years of leadership experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Deep functional experience supporting and improving enterprise project-accounting systems with knowledge of processes such as project costing project billing revenue burdening transfer pricing or cross-charge. Oracle Projects experience is strongly preferred; candidates with comparable enterprise project-accounting platform experience will also be considered.
• Experience leading a system implementation conversion migration or major rollout through requirements functional design configuration testing deployment and post-production stabilization including the development of workflows test cases and implementation documentation.
• Experience owning production application support including incident and service-request management recurring-problem resolution enhancements change control access and audit support.
• Experience leading internal teams vendors or outsourced delivery partners including responsibility for delivery quality capacity performance and service-level compliance.
• Strong executive communication facilitation and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence business leaders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Functional experience with Oracle E-Business Suite Projects Oracle Fusion Cloud Project Management/PPM PeopleSoft FSCM Project Costing/Contracts/Billing SAP Project System (SAP PS) Deltek or comparable enterprise project-accounting platforms supporting processes such as project costing project billing revenue recognition burdening/overhead allocation transfer pricing cross-charge contracts intercompany transactions or related project financial processes.
• Prior direct people-management experience leading and developing ERP enterprise applications financial systems or functional teams including coaching performance management prioritization and team development.
• Experience supporting project-accounting or project financial applications within a large global project-based organization such as engineering construction/EPC infrastructure professional services government contracting energy or another environment where revenue and billing are managed by project.
• Experience partnering with Finance Project Controls Billing Accounting or Controllership organizations to translate business requirements into ERP or enterprise-application solutions.
• Experience with ERP modernization cloud migration system replacement application transformation or major platform upgrades.
• Working knowledge of integrations reporting/BI data SQL application architecture and software development lifecycle practices with the ability to effectively partner with developers and other technical specialists.
