Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Business Development (BD) Senior Manager to accelerate Amentums growth within the National Defense and Intelligence Communities; specifically the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The successful candidate must have proven experience in customer engagement the development of a growth pipeline and the ability to qualify key strategic opportunities between $150M and $1B in size.

Candidates must have strong and current customer knowledge and networking relationships to identify opportunities across the NGA/NRO that will position Amentum as a leading provider in those areas. Deep and broad understanding of the customers short and long-term objectives as well as their in-house capabilities and support areas where Amentums capabilities will enhance their chances for mission success is desired.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Supports the development of customer account strategies responses to Request for Information (RFI) Market Surveys and Expressions of Interest (EOI).
  • Identifies Develops and Qualifies a pipeline of opportunities across the military intelligence customer set including opportunities ranging from $150M and above in TCV.
  • Prepares and presents capability statements and other new business information presentations.
  • Develops customer engagement strategies while maintaining close relationships with the key customers to understand their requirements plans goals and concerns to develop new business.
  • Responsible for shaping the RFP determining customer intimacy and identifying strengths and weaknesses of the organization in pursuit of the opportunity.
  • Works with the Capture Manager and other pursuit leaders to inform decision(s) through contract award including bid strategies the development of the technical management and cost strategies and associated the proposal.
  • Responsible for building the foundational approach to meet requirements to successfully win an opportunity to include development and articulation of our solution approach win strategies themes communicates these to key customers corporate executives and the proposal team.
  • Identifies the initial need or benefits of teaming partners and the associated oversight of required agreements. May be asked to support the drafting and negotiating teamingagreements/ statementsof work addressing customers requirements resulting in increased PWIN and long-term benefits to the company.
  • Develops and matures the strategies for future market changes and assess the likely impact on customers to identify growth opportunities and trends in domestic and international markets.
  • Consults with customers on upcoming requirements to help shape requests for proposals (RFPs) and ensures BD/Proposal teams have full understanding of requirements constraints and perceived risks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in business or subject matter relevant to customers mission required.
  • TS/SCI clearance preferably with polygraph at the time of application.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the Intel Community with five years Business Development experience demonstrating proven capability to execute a growth strategy and win pursuits.
  • Credibility with external constituents specifically with the NRO or NGA in areas such as Enterprise IT Information Systems and Networks intelligence analysis and other adjacent mission subject areas.
  • Deep and broad understanding of customers operations priorities short/long term goals strengths and weaknesses typically derived from having worked within this customers organization in a variety of roles and departments.
  • A broad-based understanding and knowledge of the business environment and business cycles around the customers operations support services.
  • Proven capability to act as a Business Development professional for various size pursuits ranging from $50M and up.
  • Experienced with the IC acquisition processes and development of proposal responses to a defined timeline.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed fast-paced team environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to support business process objectives and pursuit support from vaguely defined requirements to final proposal submission.
  • Effective oral written and presentation communication skills coupled with the ability to establish and maintain productive customer and industry participant networks are essential.
  • Efficient use of Microsoft (Word PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
  • Excellent customer service interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Abie to multi-task organize and prioritize multiple on-going projects.
  • Be self-motivated and work independently.

Work Environment Physical Demands and Mental Demands:

  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards occasional lifting to 20 pounds constant sitting while using the computer terminal constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication constant mental alertness must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.

Compensation Details:

$190000.00 - $210000.00

The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities education experience skills internal equity market data applicable collective bargaining agreements and relevant laws.
