Position Summary
TheSenior Manager A&D Program and Portfolio Management roleforthe J&J TechnologyAcquisitions & Divestitures (A&D)team reports into the Directorof A&D Program and Portfolio Management andis responsible forsupportingand enablingtheteamsstrategyto drive effective efficient and compliant execution of the J&J A&D portfolio consisting of acquisitions divestitures and licensing deals across the business sectors.
The role is responsible forestablishing and managing program governance across the entire A&D portfoliowith a focus ondriving consistent process anddealartifacts articulating clear value statements on dealsmanaging budgets and financial forecasts managing portfolioresourceallocations ensuring organizational milestones are metand reporting on team progress to leadership across the role requires strong leadership strategic planning and cross-functional collaborationwith the deal leads and their teamsto achieve project milestones mitigate risks and deliver results within scope budget and role should be well versed in the approachprocessand toolsets necessary to execute an A&D deal andwill be in a leadership role to train and support the overall organization in meeting a high standard for complianceconsistencyand efficiency on all role will alsobe responsible forhighlightingand drivingimprovement opportunitiesacross JJT A&D with the goal ofdriving them to completionwith clear measurements of improvement against theoverall role will also require some depth in reporting and data analytics to be able to clearly articulatethe organizationsdealvalue proposition.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Alignment ofJJT A&DBusiness Value Statements and Measurements - Monitoring Value and Metrics Reporting
- Implement performance monitoring tools to track project progress against benchmarks.
- Conduct monthly portfolio reviews and weekly project status updates to ensure alignment with goals.
- Usefinancial managementreports andlessonslearned sessions to refine processes.
- Define and document the project end state including lessons learned and final metrics.
- Align business separation strategies with workstream objectives to substantiate value impact.
- Utilize Nexus and Polaris reporting platforms to highlight delivery against the A&D organization inestablishingand driving key deal value performance metrics in support of ongoing OKRs.
Guidance and Structure AcrossA&DDeals including standardized processes and artifacts
- Develop a consistent framework for planning execution and closeout phases across the deal portfolio.
- Align reporting formats and cadence for all workstream project plans inNexus andDevensoft.
- Utilize tools like the RAID Log and dashboards for tracking risks actions issues and decisions.
- Create a consistent data model templates and insights across the end-to-end process.
- Enhance playbookmethodology tools and templates to improve quality and accelerate execution.
- Develop tools and templates to refine processes and reduce risks through lessons learned.
Strong Engagement with Deal Leads and Programs
- Ensure proactive leadership and coordination by the Deal Management team to minimize challenges during transitions.
- Establish clearescalationpathways and protocols for unresolved issues.
- Conduct regular assessments of project performance and progress using monitoring tools and metrics.
- Focusedpartnershipdirectlywith theA&D projectteamson project management approach at the deal level includingthe consistent delivery of key artifacts.
Portfolio Budget Financials Resource Allocations and Forecasting
- Track and report costs systematically ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Manage deal applications information in Fusion and engage teams in lessons learned.
- Estimate manageand track costsand resource allocations for current and future fiscal years as part of planning and portfolio is appropriately resourced with necessary integration leads.
Consistent Project Management Approach
- Establish program governance RAID status reporting resource management and change managementapproach across A&D.
- Ensure regular cadence ofteam meetings fornecessary leadership and teamprogress updates.
- Define roles and responsibilities forescalationpaths and recurring forums.
Required Qualifications
Required Minimum Education:Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology BusinessFinanceor related field.
Required Years of Related Experience:
Business Experience:A minimum of8-10years ofrelevant experience in M&Aor a related domain with a proven record in managing both acquisitions and divestituresinvestmentcollaborationsand/orlicensing deals; experience with program and project management methodologies activelyapplied toachieve business outcomes
Technical Experience:DemonstratedabilityandtrackrecordinleadingIT programs and projects across a global enterpriseleveragingthe necessary program and project management toolsets and reporting capabilities;robust knowledge of enterprise and sector technology platforms andcapabilities.
Required KnowledgeSkillsand Abilities:
Understanding ofportfolio and program management reporting tools and technologies at the enterprise level.
Experiencein a matrixed environmentmanaging cross-functional projectswith a demonstrated ability to deliver on-timein-scope and on-budgetresults.
Familiarity with integration frameworks (e.g. TIME) and Transition Service Agreements.
Proficiencywith project management tools and data analytics platforms to drive decision-making and performance tracking.
Financial and business acumen.
Highly adaptable and agilewith the ability to successfully drive resultsunder tight deadlines while managing dynamic priorities concurrently.
Skilled problem-solver and cross-functional collaborator.

Preferred Minimum Education: Masters degree
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Experience with program and portfolio management in the context of mergersacquisitionsand divestitures particularly in the healthcare lifesciencesor R&D industry.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Understanding of ethical considerations and responsibleAIpractices ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
Demonstrated ability to rapidly learnevaluate and adopt newAItools and ways of working to meet evolving business needs.
Hands-on experience generating prompts creating refining and measuring prompts to boost workflow efficiency and performance.
UnderstandingAIconcepts and use cases including agenticAI with the ability to translate business processes and workflows into AI opportunities.
Proven experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologiesto enhance personal productivity and/or department performance.
Ability to collaborate with technical teams to identifyAIrequirements evaluate feasibility and accelerate AI-enabled ways of working adoption.
