Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Commercial Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations of a commercial facility. This is a hands-on maintenance position that also requires strong communication organization computer skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients tenants vendors and building occupants.
The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded commercial maintenance background with experience in carpentry plumbing electrical and general building repairs while also being comfortable assisting with client requests event coordination room setups vendor communication and computer-based work order systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the commercial facility.
- Complete general building repairs involving carpentry plumbing electrical doors hardware fixtures walls ceilings flooring and other facility components.
- Troubleshoot basic building and equipment issues and determine when outside vendors or additional support are required.
- Respond to service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Serve as a professional client-facing representative while interacting with tenants employees visitors vendors and facility leadership.
- Assist with coordination and setup of onsite meetings events conferences and other building activities.
- Set up and break down tables chairs conference rooms equipment signage and other materials for scheduled events.
- Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding event requirements maintenance needs scheduling and facility requests.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors performing work within the facility.
- Monitor vendor activity and help ensure work is completed safely and according to site expectations.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other work order platforms to document repairs preventative maintenance and service requests.
- Use Microsoft Outlook Excel Word Teams and other computer-based systems for communication scheduling documentation and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work inspections equipment issues and facility activities.
- Perform routine facility inspections and identify potential maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist with light moves furniture adjustments conference room changes and general facility support as needed.
- Maintain clean safe and professional mechanical rooms storage areas workspaces and common areas.
- Follow established safety procedures including proper use of tools equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Previous experience in commercial building maintenance facilities maintenance property maintenance or a similar role.
- Working knowledge of general carpentry plumbing electrical and building repair.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
- Previous experience working in a client-facing or tenant-facing environment strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting meetings events conference room setups or facility-related event coordination is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn work order and facility management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and Teams preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional appearance and ability to communicate effectively with clients tenants vendors and coworkers.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting a broader facilities team.
- Ability to safely lift move and carry materials associated with maintenance and event setups.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training is a plus.
