Description

If youre ready to change the way the world moves join us at BlueOval Battery Park Michigan a new state-of-the-art facility in Marshall Michigan. Youll be a key part of the launch team that will help bring the electrification revolution to driveways job sites and highways everywhere. BlueOval Battery Park Michigan will produce the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells to power the next-generation Ford EV passenger vehicles and trucks under development. This new wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company will create more than 1700 jobs when production begins in 2026.

Responsibilities

What Youll Do...

As a Senior Maintenance Supervisor you are the vital link between strategic goals and daily execution. Youll be leading a dedicated hourly team fostering an environment where they can do their best work and feel empowered.

  • Safety First: Act as a champion of workplace safety proactively enforcing regulations and fostering a culture of vigilance
  • Driving Operational Excellence: Lead and direct a team of employees that consistently makes high-quality products and meets or exceeds production targets. You will take ownership of team performance addressing shortcomings proactively and celebrating successes.
  • Strategic Focus & Problem Solving: Prioritize critical tasks and effectively allocate human resources to maximize efficiency. You will apply for a Bias for Action promptly and decisively addressing safety and quality issues to prevent larger problems. This includes identifying and analyzing problems developing and implementing effective solutions making timely and well-informed decisions and adapting to changing circumstances.

This includes meticulously tracking and reporting employee time and attendance transforming raw data into actionable intelligence for strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance: Maintain a relentless focus on identifying and eliminating inefficiencies improving processes and driving innovation to enhance productivity quality and safety. You will be uncompromisingly committed to quality implementing and maintaining rigorous standards and relentlessly pursuing excellence to eliminate defects and ensure exceptional product quality.
  • Conflict Resolution & Interpersonal Relationships: Proactively address and mediate conflicts fairly and effectively facilitating mutually acceptable solutions. This requires active listening empathy and the ability to de-escalate tense situations. You will build and maintain strong positive working relationships with your team and all partners including suppliers and union representatives through transparent communication and a willingness to listen fostering a psychologically safe environment.
  • Accountability & Fairness: Champion accountability managing both your own performance and that of the hourly workforce regarding processes and standards. You will ensure accountability play fair and meet conflict with decisive action.
  • Maintenance Work Planning & Scheduling:
    • Lead the detailed development coordination and control of maintenance and project work packages to ensure safe compliant and efficient execution particularly during facility ramp-up and ongoing operations.
    • Develop and maintain integrated schedules for preventative predictive and corrective maintenance activities including weekend and shutdown plans utilizing advanced planning tools (e.g. Primavera P6 Maximo).
    • Create comprehensive work packages detailing procedures permits required materials resource allocation and craft-specific task sequences.
    • Conduct field walkdowns to confirm job scope work boundaries safety conditions and material readiness ensuring plans are executable and align with plant procedures.

  • Coordination & Data Management:
    • Coordinate multi-discipline work planning activities across mechanical electrical instrumentation & control (I&C) and facility workstreams.
    • Interface with engineering operations and other relevant teams to validate scope field conditions and ensure work readiness.
    • Ensure accurate data entry and status updates in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (e.g. Maximo) to support real-time schedule forecasting outage coordination and KPI reporting.
    • Generate comprehensive reports and metrics on planning progress schedule compliance and work package readiness for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Operational Support:
    • Apply formal change management protocols to address scope schedule or resource deviations while maintaining configuration control.
    • Ensure strict adherence to all government industry and Ford corporate safety health environmental and quality standards throughout all planning activities.
    • Synchronize resources and activities required for problem-free equipment start-ups and shutdowns.
    • Be flexible and willing to assist with other job functions and departments as needed including back-filling other roles to support overall facility operations.


Qualifications

Youll have...

  • Bachelors degree orequivalent7 years of supervisory manufacturing military or other relevant experience.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and hours including nights and weekends
  • Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls

Even better you may have...

  • Bachelors degree in engineering (Electrical Mechanical Industrial) or a related technical field is nice to have
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodology and / or Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) Experience
  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (e.g. Maximo SAP PM any maintenance scheduling) is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings schematics and equipment manuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in maintenance work planning within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience in a battery cell manufacturing facility or a similar highly automated process industry.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls including cost estimation earned value scheduling logic and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and FMEA processes.
  • Prior experience in a facility start-up or new equipment commissioning environment.
  • Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified.
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $.


Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
