As a Survey Technician at Bohler youll work hands-on with both field and office teams to transform real-world data into the accurate deliverables that guide every successful land development project in the Nashville area. Whether youre collecting and processing field data or refining drawings in Civil 3D youll play a vital role in turning precision into progress and build the foundation for your future in surveying.
About the Role
Bohlers Nashville TN office is seeking a Survey Technician to support field data collection and CAD production efforts for projects across the this role youll prepare easements plats boundary surveys and ALTA Land Title surveys while assisting with deed compilation and base mapping. Working closely with Survey Managers Crew Chiefs and Project Managers youll help ensure that every survey is accurate complete and ready to drive the next phase of development. This role includes in-person CAD drafting at our downtown Nashville office and some travel throughout the states surrounding Tennessee for field data collection.
What Youll Do
- Lead an independent robotic survey crew and manage all aspects of field work including boundary topographic construction layout and as-built surveys
- Utilize robotic Trimble total stations and GPS with Trimble Data Collectors to complete precise measurements
- Maintain and perform minor preventive maintenance on field equipment and vehicles
- Oversee corporate credit card mileage reimbursements and related reporting
- Plot deeds establish base sketches and conduct basic research with minimal oversight
- Convert and compile field data into detailed survey drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prepare and process easements plats boundary topographic and ALTA Land Title surveys
- Contribute to project quality and efficiency by maintaining organized precise documentation
- Comply with all company policies safety procedures and standards

What Youll Bring
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in surveying engineering or related field a plus
1 years of CAD experience and 2 years of field surveying experience preferred
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey data management tools
- Strong math organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and follow-through
- Self-starter who can manage priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
