Evolv is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to evaluate deploy manage andmaintainour IT infrastructure and cybersecurity the technical engine behind a fast-growing companydelivering secure scalable solutions that enable innovationwhile managingrisk. Reporting to theSeniorDirector of Cybersecurity& Technology this is a pivotal role in maturing Evolvs IT Operations to meet the evolving demands of the business.

Youllcollaborate across the organization build trusted partnerships with stakeholders and serve as a subject matter expert on IT solutionsfrom cloud identity platforms and endpoint management to network security and SaaS operations. Ifyoureenergized by solving complex technology problems and making every employees day a little smoother and safer this role is for you.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing

In the first 30 days you will:

  • Start building relationships with key stakeholders throughout the company
  • Learn Evolvs compliance commitments (SOC 2 ISO 27001 etc.) and how best to support those efforts
  • Gain familiarity with the current ITtoolstack: Microsoft 365 endpoint management (Intune/Jamf) cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)network infrastructure (Palo Alto Cisco & Meraki) identity management (Okta Entra ID Linx)and core SaaS platforms

Within 3 months you will:

  • Begin implementing or improving processes that measurably reduce security risk across the organization
  • Build trust-based relationships with peers in IT and key stakeholders across business units
  • Become an established subject matter expert on IT solutions and cybersecurity tooling used at Evolv
  • Mentor junior IT staff onIT and Cybersecurity best practices and technology use

By the end of the first year you will:

  • Be recognized as a trusted subject matter expert across IT infrastructure endpoint management cloud identity and cybersecurity
  • Have driven measurable improvements to the security posture and IT operational maturity of the organization
  • Successfully supported compliance requirements and audit readiness partnering closely with the Cybersecurity and Legal/Compliance teams
  • Developed and documented systems and processes that empower the broader IT team and reduce single points of failure
  • Contributed to a culture of continuous improvement by delivering iterative user-focused technology solutions in close consultation with business stakeholders
  • Be seen as a go-to resource by colleagues across the company for technology questions escalations and best practice guidance

The Work: What type of work will you be doing What assignments requirements or skills will you be performing on a regular basis

Infrastructure & Systems Management:

  • Design implement andmaintainenterprise IT infrastructure including network server cloud (AWS/Azure) and end-user computing environments
  • Manage Microsoft 365 product suite including Microsoft Teams & SharePoint
  • Administer andoptimizeOkta/ Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) including identity lifecycle management Conditional Access policies and MFA enforcement
  • Manage network infrastructure including firewalls (Palo Alto) switching (Cisco/Meraki) SD-WAN and VPN/ZTNA solutions
  • Administer virtualization& backupinfrastructure including guest Windows and Linuxvirtual machines
  • Design configure and administer AWS environments including core services (EC2 S3 IAM VPC Route 53) with a focus on security best practices least-privilege access and cost-conscious architecture
  • Administer andoptimizeMicrosoft Azure environments including resource group management Azure Policy costmanagementand budgeting
  • Configureoperate andmaintaincorporate IT systems including hardware software SaaS platforms and support tooling ( SIEMEDRvulnerability management)

Cybersecurity & Risk Reduction:

  • Implement and continuously improve security controls across endpoint identity network and cloud layers aligned to frameworks such as CIS Controls NIST CSF or SOC 2
  • Assess technology risks throughout the company and recommend solutions to support business continuity and data protection
  • Support compliance commitments by ensuring systems and processes meet audit requirements; serve as a technical resource during assessments

SaaS & Business Technology Operations:

  • Support the management and optimization ofthe companys SaaS application portfolio including procurement provisioning access controls and integrations via SSO (Okta or similar)
  • Assess technology needs across business teams and recommend solutions that support growth and operational efficiency
  • Partner with IT teammates and business stakeholders to deliver iterative user-focused improvements to technology systems and support processes

Collaboration & Escalation Support:

  • Provide escalation support to IT teammates serving as a technical resource for complex issues
  • Mentor junior IT staff helping them develop their technical knowledge security awareness and professional skills
  • Document and communicate system changes clearly and consistently;maintainup-to-date runbooks and architecture documentation
  • Provide excellent customer-oriented service to internal and external stakeholders; act as a trusted technology advisor throughout the company
  • Identify assess and support current and emerging technology needs for Evolv recommending enterprise-class solutions that protect the company and its customers
  • Given the cross-functional nature of this role strong technical organizational and communication skills are essential

What is the leadership like for this role What is the structure and culture of the team

You will join the IT organization as a direct report to theSeniorDirector of Cybersecurity& Technology.

This is a hands-on collaborative team that takes security and operational excellence seriously. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on deep technical impact your job is to mature Evolvs IT infrastructure and reduce risk through the systems controls and automation you meaningful autonomy over how you approach problems and are actively encouraged to bring creative solutionsidentifyimprovement opportunities and advocate for better ways of working.

Youllwork alongside teammates who share your drive for continuous improvement andyoullhave a manager who values initiative trusts the team to execute and wants to hear your ideas. This role is engineering-focused while you may occasionallyassistwith escalations orcover forteammates your primary focus is on infrastructure cybersecurity tooling and systems that scale with the business.

Where is the role located

This role is based out of Evolv HQ in Waltham Massachusetts. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 3 days per week on-site. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.

Compensation and Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this full-time position is $120000-$196000. In addition to base salary this role offers a competitive target bonus equity and a comprehensive benefits package. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and equity in alignment with applicable state laws. Our compensation ranges are determined based on factors such as role level location market benchmarks and internal equity. The posted range represents the good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role across U.S. locations. Actual compensation within the range will be based on the candidates skills experience education and geographic location.
