Job Description
Without good understanding of ground conditions at project sites delivering new projects or maintaining existing assets safely and efficiently can be challenging. That is why we offer multiple services including geotechnical site investigations geologic and geo-hazard evaluations and geo-consulting services focused on collecting and analyzing geo-data.
Our Southern California group is looking to add a California-licensed Senior Geologist to be a self-starter who can lead effectively be responsible for completing all facets of medium-size site investigation and geology/geo-hazard evaluations in accordance with California regulations and work toward managing large and complex projects. Senior professionals are registered geotechnical engineers or geologists typically with advanced professional certifications who manage and lead teams in execution of projects and pursuits. Through their leadership and use of technical and commercial know-how independent assessment and responsible judgment they successfully deliver value to our clients. They may supervise more junior staff.
Base Salary range for this job opportunity is $120000 to $150000 per year.
Job Responsibilities

- Manage direct and execute medium size projects from technical and commercial perspectives.
- Design implement and supervise field exploration programs and detailed site characterization studies.
- Write technical reports and demonstrate proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
- Provide technical review of reports and proposals.
- Assign duties to the project team answer questions monitor progress and check/ensure accuracy of completed work.
- Ensure that commitments to clients are met with respect to quality timeliness and budget.
- Support companys pursuits of major projects.
- Make presentations to clients and staff.
- Support and encourage continuous improvement of the companys processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Bachelors degree in engineering or geology from accredited college or university required; masters degree in engineering or geology from an accredited college or university highly preferred.
- California Professional Geologist (PG) License required Certified Engineering Geologist (C.E.G.) License preferred.
- Have 7 years or more of geology field investigation and project management experience required.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering geology engineering geology geotechnical engineering and related disciplines and must possess an overall understanding of typical project technical requirements and field data acquisition procedures.
- Must be able to perform duties in both field and office environments.
- Must also be proficient in the use of software for communication project management and technical analysis. Must be computer literate able to learn software for communication project management and technical analysis.
- Possess data management math and statistics skills.
- Possess or be able to obtain valid passport ability to travel extensively both domestic and international.
- Possess valid drivers license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
