Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for a highly capable Senior General Liability Property Damage Technical Claims Specialist to join our team and work from our Omaha NE office and is focused on adjudicating commercial General Liability Property Damage claims and contributing to providing superb results for our clients.

This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Working with limited oversight under broad management directionadjudicategeneral liability property damage claims at the highest authority limits on assignments reflecting the highest degree of technical complexity potentially with major impact on departmental results.
• Conducting detailed information gathering analysis and investigation to find solutions to issues that arenumerousand undefined.
• Reporting to senior management and underwriters Investigating claims promptly and thoroughly
• Analyzing claims forms policies and endorsements client instructions and other records todeterminewhether the loss falls within the policy coverage.
• Investigating claims promptly and thoroughly including interviewing all involved parties.
• Managing claims in litigation
• Managing diarytimelyand completing tasks to ensure that cases move to the best financial outcome andtimelyresolution.
• Properly setting claim reserves.
• Identifying assigning and coordinating the assignment and coordination ofexpertiseresources toassistin case resolution.
• Preparing reports for file documentation
• Applying creative solutions which result in the best financial outcome.
• Negotiating settlements
• Processing mail and prioritizing workload.
• Completing telephone calls and written correspondence to/from various parties (insured claimant etc.).
• Having an appreciation and passion for strong claim management.
  

Qualifications / Experience Required:

• A deep knowledge of General Liability Property Damage claims as well as an exceptional customer service focus typically obtained through:
  • A minimum of seven years experienceadjudicatinggeneral liability property damage claimswith extensive experience with exposure of $100000 or more.
  • Bachelorsdegree from an accredited universityrequired. Two or more insurance designations or fouradditionalyears of related experienceadjudicatinggeneral liability property damage claims beyond the minimum experiencerequiredabove may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Licensed Claims Examiner (Based on state): Must be licensed or have the ability to quickly obtain a license in eachjurisdictionrequiring a license toadjudicatefirst-party claims within 120 Days.A NY State license is addition the quickest way to obtain other state licenses would be to obtain a license in FL GA or TX as most states will offer reciprocal licenses from one of these three states.
  • Working knowledge of Guidewire ClaimsCenter and ImageRight strongly preferred.
• Must have good business acumen ( how an insurance company works and makes money including how this role impacts both Argo Group and our customers ability to be profitable).
• Possession or the ability to quickly (within 90 days of hire) obtain a license in eachjurisdictionrequiring a license toadjudicatefirst-party work independently anddemonstratethe ability to exercise sound judgment with respect to matters of significance.
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
• Excellent evaluation and strategic skillsrequired.
• Strong claim negotiation skillsa to takea proactiveand pragmatic approach to negotiation.
