About the Role

This is a high-visibility high-accountability seat inside a global operational finance function at a multinational manufacturing company. The person in this role owns cost of goods sold at scale -- overseeing month-end close product costing and financial reporting for a portfolio of roughly 1700 SKUs across a complex global supply chain.

This is not a maintenance role. The team is actively in a transformation phase -- processes that were previously outsourced have been brought in-house and the organization is now focused on stabilizing data accuracy improving reporting infrastructure and beginning to integrate AI and automation into key steps of the cost management process. The right person will play a central role in all of it.

What Youll Own

  • Lead month-end close activities for CoGS including bookings accruals corrections and reporting -- with full accountability for accuracy and integrity of results
  • Oversee product costing for finished goods and new SKU launches including complex multi-component and tolled manufacturing structures
  • Maintain global CoGS consistency and transparency through ERP and reporting tools analyzing monthly results against budget forecast and prior year
  • Partner with Supply Chain Marketing and Business leaders globally to provide timely cost data that supports strategic and operational decisions
  • Flag and resolve variances inconsistencies and errors across supply chain regions and countries
  • Support business case development with CoGS analysis for new product and supply chain decisions
  • Contribute to the budget and forecast process for cost of goods across traded and subcontracted products
  • Support internal and external audit processes with accurate well-documented cost management records
  • Drive and contribute to ongoing process improvement automation and AI initiatives within the cost function
  • Manage and develop a small team with a growth path to leading additional permanent headcount

What You Bring

  • 10-15 years of experience in manufacturing controlling cost accounting or product costing -- this is the foundation everything else is built on
  • Deep understanding of standard costing cost structures and how products are manufactured and distributed in a complex industrial environment
  • Experience with contract/toller manufacturing models is a strong plus
  • Heavy ERP experience with standard costing management required; D365 familiarity is a plus but not a dealbreaker
  • Power BI proficiency
  • The seniority and confidence to lead a process -- not just execute it -- in a fast-moving global matrixed organization
  • Comfort operating across cultures and time zones; this role interfaces with finance and supply chain leaders across every country the business operates in
  • Enough technical depth to know what belongs in the books what doesnt and why -- and the judgment to act on it
  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or Engineering; Masters degree preferred
