Senior Environmental Project Manager

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to support our Oil & Gas business line and can be based in Midland Texas. This role will lead the successful delivery of complex environmental projects for clients in the upstream oil & gas midstream refining industrial and related energy sectors. The selected candidate will oversee one or more projects from planning through execution providing strategic project leadership managing risk ensuring financial performance and fostering long-term client relationships through the consistent delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
- Consistently delivers planned profit margins.
- Consistently completes projects without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
- Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
- Manages complex clients and projects within the oil & gas energy industrial and environmental sectors.
- Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
- Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
- Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or programs of projects.
- Leads and mentors multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project execution financial performance and client satisfaction.
- Supports business development efforts through client engagement proposal preparation and account growth initiatives.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of environmental consulting experience supporting upstream oil & gas midstream refining industrial or energy-sector clients.
- Proven track record managing complex multi-disciplinary environmental projects with responsibility for scope schedule budget and quality performance.
- Strong client relationship management skills with experience growing key accounts and securing repeat business.
- Experience leading project teams mentoring project managers and managing project risk contracts and financial performance.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance site assessment and remediation permitting groundwater investigations and regulatory programs applicable to Texas and the Permian Basin.
- Professional certification or registration preferred such as PG PE CHMM PMP or a related credential.
- Existing relationships with Texas oil & gas energy or industrial clients are highly desirable.
