The Environmental Effects Engineering (EEE) organization at Collins Aerospace is seeking an EMC/EMI Project Engineer who will thrive at the intersection of engineering rigor and project execution - managing test readiness documentation and coordination across technical teams.

This position requires independently managing multiple projects and technical tasks while working in a worldclass EMI test facility. You will support daytoday prequalification and qualification testing of products and subsystems of moderate to high complexity ensuring compliance to standards such as MILSTD461 and DO160.

You will be the driving force behind organized reliable and technically sound EMI this role you will collaborate with the test lab project engineering and external customer teams to coordinate EMI qualification activities and uphold engineering rigor. Your responsibilities will range from early design support through documenting and reporting test execution ensuring test plans procedures execution and reports come together seamlessly in a fastpaced environment.

What You Will Do:

In this EMC/EMI Project Engineer role you will support the following types of activities:

• Support EMI projects through design considerations requirements alignment and participation in technical reviews.
• Prepare for and coordinate EMI testing including schedules test readiness activities and required documentation.
• Work with the various facets of the test lab to ensure equipment technicians and resources are available and aligned with project needs.
• Develop and update EMI test plans procedures and reports ensuring accuracy consistency and repeatability.
• Coordinate and maintain test documentation such as datasheets data files photo logs and configuration files.
• Review test data for accuracy and assist test engineers with troubleshooting efforts.
• Participate in peer reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of documentation and processes.
• Ensure technicians follow appropriate procedures and maintain accurate documentation throughout testing.
• Provide internal and external customer communication and support throughout the testing lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Ability to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance (Selected Candidate will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements)
• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with crossfunctional teams to align requirements cost and schedule with internal program goals and external contractual commitments.
• Experience in Circuit board and Radio Frequency (RF) design including use of schematic capture tools and collaboration with PCB layout board designers.
• Experience applying military aerospace testing standards (DO-160; MIL-STD-461; MIL-STD-704).
• Working knowledge of electromagnetic (EM) or circuit simulation tools.
• Experience supporting RF hardware development activities including requirements capture and verification design and development integration and testing at the sub-system and system level.
• Willingness to pursue/obtain International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) certification.
• Demonstrated ability to write and present technical material clearly and effectively.

This position is part of a larger team that creates a variety of Environmental Effects for TEMPEST Nuclear Electromagnetic Compatibility/Interference (EMC/EMI) and Power Quality qualification testing of Company products and programs to various military and commercial industry standards.

The EEE Lab is a world-class full-service 18000 sqft (and growing) Environmental Qualification Test Lab located in Cedar Rapids IA capable of creating nearly any sub-system environment required in the avionics industry. While EEE reports up through Central Engineering Solutions they support testing for all Collins Aerospace and Raytheon Technologies as needed. EEE services not only includes a full suite of Climatics Dynamic EMI/EMC Lightning and TEMPEST test capabilities; our industry experts also offer design support analysis test failure troubleshooting root cause analysis and much more.

The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
