The kind of hardware that sits inside substations generation facilities and utility infrastructure and simply cannot fail. The engineers here know exactly what theyre building and why it matters.
This role is sustaining engineering. That means you own product integrity from production through the full lifecycle. You are the single point of contact when something needs to be understood fixed improved or verified. You work across hardware manufacturing and quality. You make calls. You write the technical documentation that matters. You supervise a team.
The business is growing. Data centers are driving higher voltage infrastructure. Major utilities are refreshing their protection and control systems. The demand for what this team builds is not speculative it is essential and very real.
What the work looks like day to day:
Analyzing component specs and qualifying alternates when supply or design requires it.
Partnering with manufacturing and quality on producibility and test.
Root cause analysis on production failures.
Supporting and reviewing instruction books application guides product specifications.
Working to IEC IEEE ANSI UL CSA and CE standards. Using protection and control test equipment including Omicron. Getting to yes on hard problems without much hand-holding.
What you bring:
BSEE required.
Three to five years in circuit design worst case analysis and component evaluation. Automated testing experience.
Strong written and verbal communication - you can explain technical decisions to non-engineers and write documentation that holds up.
Protection and control background is a plus not a requirement. Self-directed fast on your feet and willing to own the outcome.
