Job Summary

is currently seeking a direct hire Senior Electrical Engineer for one of our partners a manufacturer of heavy-duty specialty vehicles used in large-scale logistics and industrial operations building across diesel gas and battery electric this position you will own electrical design end to end: functional diagram schematics harness design and then out to the floor to build the prototype and make it work. There is no team that hands you a schematic and no team that turns your drawing into a harness. One engineer carries the whole thing which means you touch every part of the vehicle rather than one slice of it. On site in the Southeastern United States.


Responsibilities
  • Develop the electrical and controls systems for a full line of heavy-duty vehicles and trailers
  • Take designs the whole way: functional diagram schematic harness design release and prototype build
  • Solve the problems that only show up on the build floor and feed what you learn back into the design
  • Own the electrical standards best practices and ways of working and keep improving them as the product line evolves
  • Build the scope of work schedules and task lists for electrical and controls development projects
  • Direct external design resources and coordinate with suppliers on component procurement for prototype and production builds
  • Partner with the prototype department on the right tooling and inventory levels for harness assembly
  • Handle the engineering work that comes with custom customer orders
  • Work cross-functionally across the whole vehicle rather than inside a single subsystem


Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. This one is firm and an Engineering Technology degree will not substitute.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Hands-on electrical design experience across the full range: functional diagrams schematics and harness design
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment and building prototypes
  • Comfortable working on a production floor: PPE required with walking standing crouching and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
  • Able to commit to a flexible schedule
  • Able to work on site full time in the Southeastern United States
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (drug-free workplace)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Creo Schematics experienceHigh voltage experience on electrified platforms
  • Background in construction agricultural off-highway material handling or commercial vehicle electrical
  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Trailer electrical experience: lighting ABS 7-way telematics harness routing in harsh environments
  • Experience coordinating external design houses and suppliers
