Senior Electrical Engineer

About the PositionPond is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Energy role will support a diverse portfolio of projects primarily focused on oil & gas and aviation fueling systems (military and commercial) with additional opportunities to contribute to renewable energy and utility successful candidate will serve as a technical lead within Ponds Energy electrical team supporting multidisciplinary projects across the planning design and construction phases. This position is well-suited for an engineer with 10 years of experience who is comfortable owning electrical scope guiding project execution mentoring junior staff and interfacing directly with and QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology10 years of professional electrical engineering experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license required (or actively in the process of obtaining)Strong working knowledge of IEEE standards API guidelines and NFPA 70 (NEC)Familiarity with additional NFPA codes including NFPAand 780; IBC familiarity a plusProven experience leading electrical design for fueling systems oil & gas facilities industrial plants or energy infrastructure projectsProficiency with industry-standard tools including AutoCAD ETAP SKM and applicable vendor softwareExperience preparing and reviewing electrical construction drawings specifications calculations and technical narrativesAbility to collaborate effectively with Electrical CAD Designers and multidisciplinary engineering teamsDemonstrated experience interfacing directly with clients plant engineers operators and contractorsStrong written and verbal communication skillsKey ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & DesignLead and support electrical design for fuel terminals LNG facilities oil & gas midstream systems compression stations and aviation fueling systemsDevelop and review low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems grounding and bonding lighting motor control heat trace andstandby power systemsPerform hazardous area classification reviews and ensure compliant equipment selection wiring methods and documentationApply applicable codes standards and client requirements to deliver compliant constructible designsPrepare review and seal (as applicable) construction drawings specifications engineering calculations and design narrativesAnalysis & DocumentationProduce and/or review electrical studies including load flow short circuit coordination arc flash voltage drop conductor sizing and groundingDevelop and review one-line diagrams panel schedules load lists conduit and cable schedules equipment layouts and installation detailsCoordination & ExecutionCoordinate electricalscope with mechanical civil structural and I&C disciplines to ensure scope alignment and constructabilitySupport controls and instrumentation interfaces including PLC I/O diagrams SCADA coordination EFSO/ESD systems and motor starting methods (VFDs soft starters MCCs)Review vendor submittals packaged skid systems and hazardous-rated electrical equipmentParticipate in design reviews constructability reviews and technical coordination meetingsConstruction & Client SupportSupport construction activities including RFIs submittal reviews site visits field verifications and commissioning supportServe as a technical point of contact for clients and project stakeholdersMentorship & Business SupportProvide technical guidance redlines and direction to Electrical CAD Designers to ensure accurate and efficient drawing productionMentor junior engineers and designers supporting technical development and knowledge transferAssist with proposal development technical approaches project planning and client presentations as required
