Job Summary
Job Title: Senior Dynatrace Engineer
Job Type: Contract-Hybrid
Location: Atlanta GA 30308
Job Duration: 1 year Extension
Shift: 8am to 5pm
Job Description:
Under limited supervision coordinates designs and secures computer databases to store track and maintain a large volume of critical business information. Serves as highest advanced-level subject matter expert providing authoritative guidance for professional staff. May also serve in a lead role. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate monitoring troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and research for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) across hybrid multi-cloud and microservices architectures. This is for the INET Program.
Monitoring & Observability:
- Configure maintain and optimize monitoring solutions using Dynatrace.
- Enable end-to-end visibility across infrastructure systems and applications.
- Develop dashboards alerts and health checks to ensure system health and reliability.
- Monitor service performance and availability and set alert thresholds to minimize false positives.
Infrastructure Systems Monitoring:
- Monitor Windows/Linux servers virtual environments and cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP).
- Support monitoring of databases middleware and network components.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to identify trends and capacity needs.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact production.
Application Monitoring:
- Use Dynatrace to monitor application performance and transaction flows.
- Support synthetic monitoring and real user monitoring.
- Work closely with application teams to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage.
- Assist in troubleshooting performance issues at both the application and system level.
Incident Support:
- Participate in incident response efforts related to performance and availability.
- Provide monitoring insights during troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Identify and close monitoring gaps.
Continuous Improvement:
- Enhance monitoring standards and documentation.
- Recommend improvements to monitoring configurations and alert strategies.
- Support integration of monitoring tools with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in information systems Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 5 years in systems engineering infrastructure support or monitoring roles.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux servers virtualized environments (VMware) and cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP).
- Basic networking understanding (DNS TCP/IP load balancing).
- Experience with scripting or automation tools like PowerShell or Bash (preferred).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or container monitoring.
- Experience with ITIL practices and regulated industries (e.g. healthcare financial services).
Skill Required
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and management
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux servers virtualized environments (VMware) and cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP).
- Experience with scripting or automation tools like PowerShell or Bash (preferred).
- Basic networking understanding (DNS TCP/IP Load balancing).
- Experience migrating from Dynatrace Managed to SaaS
- Knowledge of recommending baseline monitoring thresholds KPI;s and SLAs
- Familiarity with enterprise log analysis frameworks and tools like Jira or Service Now.
- Exposure to AWS Solution Architect Professional Certification (Preferred).
