This role:

The Senior Director Supply Chain is a strategic leader responsible for directing all supply chain functions at a rapidly growing sterile fill-finish CDMO site including procurement planning materials management warehousing logistics and S&OP. As a member of the Site Leadership Team this role drives supply continuity inventory optimization operational excellence and profitable growth while ensuring alignment between customer demand manufacturing capacity and financial objectives.

This position leads the sites integrated planning process and continuous improvement of S&OP capabilities partnering cross-functionally with Manufacturing Quality Technical Services Finance Program Management and Commercial teams to support data-driven decision-making and proactive risk management. The ideal candidate is a transformational leader who can scale supply chain operations develop high-performing teams and enable business growth while maintaining strong customer outcomes including On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Right First Time (RFT) performance.

The responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the site supply chain strategy to support business growth operational excellence and customer fulfillment objectives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for Procurement Capacity Planning Materials Management Warehousing and Logistics functions.
  • Own the sites Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process ensuring alignment of demand supply inventory capacity and financial objectives.
  • Lead the monthly Site Operations Review process facilitating data-driven decision making and proactive management of business risks and opportunities.
  • Develop capacity and inventory strategies that support revenue growth optimize working capital and ensure supply continuity.
  • Drive operational performance through achievement of key supply chain metrics including inventory management service levels supply reliability and customer delivery performance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing Quality Technical Services Program Management Finance and Commercial teams to achieve site and business objectives.
  • Lead supply chain transformation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scalability planning effectiveness operational efficiency and organizational performance.
  • Establish and manage the Supply Chain budget while identifying opportunities to improve profitability reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
  • Build develop and lead a high-performing supply chain organization through talent development succession planning employee engagement and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify assess and mitigate supply capacity inventory and operational risks that could impact customer commitments or business performance.
  • Champion Lean principles and operational excellence practices across the supply chain organization.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Engineering Operations Management or a related field required; MBA Masters degree and/or APICS certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in pharmaceutical biotechnology CDMO or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading managers and developing high-performing teams in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading supply chain functions including procurement planning materials management warehousing and logistics.
  • Proven experience leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning processes and driving cross-functional alignment to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management capacity planning working capital optimization and supply chain performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive results across cross-functional organizations including Manufacturing Quality Finance Technical Services Program Management and Commercial teams.
  • Experience developing organizational capability through talent development succession planning and leadership coaching.
  • Knowledge of GMP-regulated manufacturing environments required; experience in sterile manufacturing aseptic processing or fill-finish operations preferred.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing budgets developing business cases and supporting profitability objectives.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems Microsoft Office applications and data analytics tools used to support supply chain decision-making.
