About the Role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong software engineering background in Java or Python and extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and automation. The ideal candidate combines DevOps expertise with infrastructure-as-code scripting and the ability to build lightweight administrative interfaces that support operational workflows.

This is a fully remote contract opportunity for an engineer who enjoys designing scalable infrastructure automating deployments and collaborating closely with development teams to deliver reliable secure and efficient platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design implement and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and deployment pipelines.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications.
• Develop backend automation and tooling using Java or Python.
• Create and maintain infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop lightweight administrative dashboards and internal tools using TypeScript and modern frontend technologies.
• Build and enhance admin panels for operational monitoring configuration management and support functions.
• Monitor system performance troubleshoot production issues and optimize platform reliability.
• Implement security best practices access controls and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with software engineers product teams and SREs to improve deployment and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in DevOps Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong programming experience in Java or Python.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience developing lightweight frontend applications or internal admin portals using frameworks such as React.
• Experience designing and building administrative dashboards or operational tooling.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions Jenkins GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Linux administration scripting and system troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus Grafana ELK or Datadog.
• Strong understanding of Git branching strategies and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cloud security and IAM best practices.
• Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL Redis or other data stores.
• Experience with API development and integration.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in distributed remote teams.
