Pratt & Whitney is seeking for a Senior Design Engineer to support our Mechanical Systems External Nacelles (MSEN) Design Engineering this role you will be part of the Component Integrated Product Teams resolving high-priority engine teardown and rebuild challenges determining the resolution of engine disassembly and rebuild issues that develop at the depot during engine rebuild.

What You Will Do:

• Provide onsite engineeringsupportfor engine teardown inspection and rebuildactivities by evaluatinghardware conditions resolvingcomplex design issues and delivering timelytechnical guidance todepot operations.
• Develop and implementdesign solutionsby applying Pratt& Whitney Engineering StandardWork collaborating withcross-functional engineeringdisciplines and supportingproduct improvements throughoutthe engine overhaulprocess.
• Serve as thedesign engineering representativeon Component IntegratedProduct Teams (CIPTs) balancing customer requirementsfor durability performance manufacturability cost and weight whendeveloping design solutions.
• Evaluate the serviceabilityof MSEN enginehardware by reviewingteardown inspection findings determining componentdispositions documentingengineering decisionsand presenting technicalrecommendations to Pratt& Whitney leadership andcustomers.
• Expand your structuralanalysis expertise byapplying analytical methodsand collaborating withexperienced analysts tosupport engineering decisionsand component designimprovements.
• Travel: 10% travel to supportprogram and customerneeds (Domestic).

Qualifications You Must Have:

• A Bachelors degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience or a Masters degree in Engineering (Aerospace Mechanical or Civil) and 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience in engineering design and/or analysis.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in theaerospace industry witha strong preferencefor turbofan enginedesign development orsustainment.
• Proficiency with ProductLifecycle Management (PLM) systems such asTeamcenter and experience usingSiemens NXor comparable 3DCAD software formechanical design.
• Familiarity with structuralanalysis tools suchasAnsys and an interestin applying analyticalmethods to supportengineering design decisions.
• Experience with continuousimprovement methodologies includingLean CORE ACE Six Sigma or other processimprovement frameworks.
• Proficiency withMicrosoft OfficeSAP and other engineeringor enterprise businessapplications.
• Demonstrated project coordinationskills with theability to effectivelymanage multiple prioritiesand work acrosscross-functional teams

Department/Segment Overview:

Mechanical Systems Externals & Nacelles (MSEN): The MSEN organization is responsible for the design development and in-service support of power transmission systems bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis oil and thermal management systems engine externals packaging and architecture as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering Mechanical Design Structural Analysis Product Definition System Modeling Mechanical Design analysis for bearings gears and seals and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

Candidates will learn more about therole type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
