Consider joining CNA Insurances Portfolio Management Data Analytics team which partners closely with Underwriting and business leadership to drive strategy execution accountability and profitable growth through analytics and insight. This team leverages data and analytics synthesized from across the organization to ensure underwriting strategies are effectively translated into measurable actions and outcomes.

In this Senior Consultant role you will leverage advanced analytical expertise technical skills and strong business partnership to drive significant impact across a variety of commercial insurance products. You will lead smaller scale initiatives to implement automated scorecards AI enabled insights and individual account scenario analysis tools that support underwriters in planning and executing CNAs global underwriting strategies as part of a cohesive execution platform.

You will translate underwriting strategy into leading indicators and operational key results and design analytics and BI solutions that support ongoing performance management and accountability. The role also applies emerging AI capabilitiessuch as prompt driven analysis text summarization and decision supportto accelerate insight generation and enhance analytical workflows. The team leverages CNAs enterprise data across exposure policy attributes distribution risk control operations and claims to inform decision making across the underwriting value chain.

This position provides the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership and to collaborate cross functionally with underwriting analytics and operational partners to embed analytics and AI enabled insights into core business processes.

Ideal candidates have a property and casualty insurance background and are skilled with SQL and applying AI enabled analytics tools and prompt engineering techniques.

This position works a hybrid work schedule at one of our CNA office locations including Chicago IL; Radnor PA Charlotte NC or New York City NY.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

• Leads smaller scale projects that involve the analysis of moderately complex to complex modeling for the purpose of quantifying the performance of the business area and evaluating operational changes. Uses technical expertise to provide business insights and recommendations to support business improvements. Reports findings to Senior Management.
• Interprets data and identifies relevant analyses; Monitors trends over time and provides actionable insights to determine actionable outcomes on a business area. Makes recommendations using technical experience judgment and precedents.
• Builds complex dashboards (using excel and/or Proprietary Software) and prepares reports for Senior Management.
• Acts as a technical resource and regularly identifies opportunities to leverage new IT solutions in support of analytics and reporting objectives.
• Works independently receiving minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience by providing instruction guidance and advice.
• May actively partner with other analytical teams across the organization and/or participate in special projects.

Reporting Relationship
Typically Director or above.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

• Solid knowledge of core functions of an insurance company and general insurance.
• Solid technical knowledge of financial economical and statistical practices procedures and principles which may include a specialty area of the business.
• Solid interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Effectively interacts with all levels of CNAs internal and external business partners.
• Solid analytical critical thinking and problem solving skills to effectively resolve complex situations and issues.
• Solid project management organization and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and lead teams.
• Ability to solve issues with a sense of urgency; utilizes and manages the available resources to make informed decisions and achieve superior results.
• Ability to creatively and effectively manage through ambiguous and challenging problems leads through change and takes appropriate level of risk.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
  

Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Business Economics Mathematics Finance Statistics or related field.
• Typically a minimum of seven years of related work experience.

In certain jurisdictions CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this District of Columbia California Colorado Connecticut Illinois Maryland Massachusetts New York and Washington the national base pay range for this job level is $72000 to $141000 determinations are based on various factors including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and location.
