Dauch is searching for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. This position will be based out of our Wooster OH location.The Senior Controls Engineer leads the design testing installation and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. Applications are complex requiring cross-disciplinary integration and wide application of concepts.
Job Description:
Design and recommend the control system architecture products components and applications used in manufacturing processes; identifies and resolves system integration and interface issues.
Evaluate new and emerging manufacturing and control technologies adapting into specifications as appropriate.
Confirm control system functionality including appropriate safety compliance by designing and/or executing test procedures.
Prepare and/or review electrical hydraulic and pneumatic controls drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components materials and suppliers.
Ensure integrity of process and build data collection.
Provide information to manufacturing process and other engineering disciplines by answering questions and requests.
Keep equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
Manage supplier development and delivery.
Maintain project documents using approved methodology tools and templates.
Wors on multiple complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- 7 years of experience in the automation industry.
- Strong experience with Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g. Allen-Bradley Siemens) Industry Standards UL and CE.
- Familiar with Vision Systems (e.g. Cognex Keyence).
- Familiar with various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g. IAI Yasakawa).
- Experience with troubleshooting control system issues.
