Job Summary

Position SummaryThe Senior Consumer Loan Underwriter Professional (Centralized Lending) is an opportunity to contribute to a cross-functional and agile team validating and facilitating high-volume loan requests. As the Senior Underwriter you are responsible for reviewing and underwriting all consumer loan products including home equity loans originated online in branch or via the centralized lending branch support process. This role performs all underwriting duties without face-to-face contact and identifies analyzes and evaluates loan risks and compensating factors and ensures the marketability of closed loans and the safety of credit union assets. Youll be responsible to approve suspend or deny loan applications ensuring that members and prospective members are promptly and professionally served by working with the Loan Coordinator Associates branch lenders or vendors (for Indirect Lending). The Senior Consumer Loan Underwriter Professional (Centralized Lending) ensures loans are approved within the terms of the credit unions standards and procedures and regulatory underwriting a Senior Underwriter you will also help provide support guiding front-line Loan Personnel and making note: This position is located at the HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu andrequires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008. As such upon active employment with HSFCU you will be required to register on NMLS or move your previous registration to HSFCU registration rolls. Employment in this position at HSFCU is contingent upon successful registration immediately after your start date and annual renewal of your registration thereafter. Base Annual Salary Range: $70600 - $90825 per yearThe posted range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position with final compensation determined based on experience skills and internal Duties:Executes established operational goals and ensures corporate wide plans and programs are complemented and that all department functions are performed in accordance with established credit union policies and procedures and governmental moderately complex issues compares alternative solutions and decides on appropriate and assesses the capacity and collateral of consumer including home equity applicants employment history. Ensures the probability of continued employment is good. Verifies employment history. Assesses overtime bonuses and commissions used to qualify. Analyzes tax returns and balance sheets of shelf-employed the adequacy of the applicants income and the probability the member will be able to meet expected financial obligations. Assesses family support requirements. Compares previous housing expenses with proposed expenses. Examines income trends and determines possibilities for increased income in future borrowers credit. Reviews the manner in which obligations have been met and financial affairs managed. Investigates derogatory credit. Ensures all previous mortgage histories are rated and all debts are appropriately all underwriting functions in accordance with various credit union program requirements and related legal and regulatory Qualifications and Experience4-6 years of related experience in Loan of consumer and home equity lending math abilities analytical and financial knowledge of computer applications including Windows File Explorer Outlook Microsoft Word and to adapt to changes in work environment or work to work efficiently and in an organized of related legal and regulatory standards and required loan degree or equivalent Qualifications and ExperienceBachelors degree in Business or related work experience in a credit union or financial with loan origination systems (LOS) and underwriting platforms (e.g. MeridianLink Origence etc.).Overview:Find your happy place.
