The Role

Were looking for a Senior Consultant and Project Lead who brings equal parts technical depth and executive presence. This is a client-facing advisory role as much as it is a delivery role youll lead implementations end-to-end but youll also be the person sitting across from a CFO or Controller helping them optimize their finance operations long after go-live.

Reporting to our Practice Director youll lead project delivery and guide the project team including junior consultants toward successful outcomes. Youre not managing their careers; you are a player/coach responsible for the quality and success of the work the project team produces together.

Our Director of Client Success manages our ongoing client relationships so you can stay focused on delivery and advisory rather than account administration. Periodically youll re-engage existing clients for optimization check-ins system enhancement workflow/process consulting etc.

This is not a role for someone who needs a defined playbook handed to them on day one. Youll bring structure to ambiguous situations manage scope proactively and handle crucial conversations with clients confidently and professionally earning the trust of Client leadership as a valued consultant and business advisor.

What Youll Do

Client Delivery & Advisory

• Lead Sage Intacct implementations for multi-unit restaurant and hospitality clients from discovery through go-live and post-launch stabilization ensuring high client satisfaction and successful adoption
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs Controllers and finance leaders translating their business goals into financial system design not just configuration decisions
• Own client communication throughout the delivery lifecycle including scope management setting clear expectations and proactive escalation when needed
• Consult with clients after implementation to help optimize their system for long-term success

Technical Delivery

• Configure and deliver solutions across GL multi-entity/intercompany consolidations AP Cash Management Fixed Assets and platform services
• Build financial reports custom dashboards and unit-level performance views using Sage Intaccts native reporting tools
• Serve as SME on advanced modules and marketplace solutions relevant to the restaurant & hospitality vertical
• Support scoping and SOW development for existing client engagements as needed

Team & Project Leadership

• Lead the project team on your engagements setting the standard for quality overseeing the work and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget
• Mentor and coach junior consultants to help them develop the skills and judgment necessary to operate more independently and grow their careers over time
• Contribute to internal methodology tooling and knowledge-sharing as a senior voice on the Tablespoon team helping to drive the overall success of the practice

A Day in the Life

No two clients or days are the same. You might start the morning on a project sync reviewing open configuration items with the team then spend midday leading a discovery session with a multi-unit operators CFO whos trying to understand what better intercompany reporting could do for their close the afternoon youre reviewing a junior consultants dashboard build before a client demo and wrapping up by documenting a scope change conversation you handled that morning.

Youll end most days knowing you moved something forward for a client for a teammate or for the practice.

What Were Looking For

Non-Negotiables

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years of Sage Intacct implementation experience with demonstrated ownership of full-cycle projects
• Expertise in Sage Intacct system functionality design concepts and best practices not just configuration experience but true depth
• Demonstrated experience designing Chart of Accounts dimension structures and reporting frameworks not just the how but able to articulate and advise clients on the why behind crucial design decisions
• In-depth understanding of accounting standards general ledger/subledger concepts financial close procedures and how to optimize accounting workflows
• Executive presence and communication skills you can hold a peer-level conversation with a CFO frame complex tradeoffs clearly and earn trust quickly
• Proven ability to lead a project team as a player/coach toward successful delivery owning timelines work quality and client outcomes
• Comfortable leading project scope conversations including saying no when needed and framing changes professionally
• Genuine enthusiasm for mentoring youre energized by helping someone grow not drained by it
• Self-directed you figure things out manage your own time and are results-oriented
• You are inherently positive in nature have a customer service mentality and a whatever it takes attitude to ensuring client satisfaction

Strongly Preferred

• Restaurant or hospitality industry experience
• Prior experience as a Director of Finance Controller or CFO (or as an advisor to those roles)
• Familiarity with restaurant-adjacent integrations (POS labor inventory/back-office systems Sage marketplace solutions)
• CPA CMA or PMP certification
• Sage Intacct certification(s)

• Ability to work independently and self-manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Strong technology skills and experience working with modern business SaaS applications and communication tools (Zoom Microsoft Teams Box etc.)
• Must be comfortable communicating and meeting with clients and team members in a virtual environment (including frequent video meetings)
• Ability to travel periodically for conferences and team meetings
