Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has exciting opportunities for Senior Computing Architect to join ourExperimental Systems Group (ESG)located in Herndon VA.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Computing Architect to design administer and support secure enterprise computing environments. The successful candidate will bring deep Microsoft Windows systems administration experience expertise with virtualization and end-user computing platforms and a strong understanding of backup and recovery operations. Experience administering AWS cloud environments is a plus.

Position Responsibilities

• Designs implements and maintains secure computing architectures
• Administers Microsoft Windows servers and systems including configuration patching troubleshooting and performance optimization
• Supports and manage Citrix and XenDesktop environments
• Administers VMware virtualization platforms
• Manages and support NetBackup software including backup restore and recovery processes
• Applies security requirements and best practices across systems and infrastructure
• Troubleshoots complex technical issues and provide guidance to other IT staff
• Develops and maintains technical documentation system standards and operational procedures
• Collaborates with security engineering and operations teams to support mission and business needs
• Supports AWS cloud administration when applicable

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 14 or more years of relevant experience in systems administration infrastructure engineering or computing architecture
• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Windows systems
• Experience with Citrix and XenDesktop
• Experience with VMware
• Experience with NetBackup software
• Security certification or any other Department of Defense (DoD) 8140-recognized Cyberspace Workforce Qualification
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Strong troubleshooting communication and documentation skills
• Willingness to provide rotating on-call support and occasional shift and weekend work

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience administering AWS cloud environments.
• Experience designing or supporting secure enterprise infrastructure.
• Familiarity with applicable security policies and compliance requirements.

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 5): $184450 - $249550
