Senior CNC Machining Engineer
Job Summary
Were looking for a hands-on manufacturing engineer with real CNC machining expertise to lead process improvements capital projects and technical problem-solving on our machining floor. This role is the go-to technical resource for CNC machining turning milling grinding and related manufacturing systems - diagnosing issues optimizing processes and leading projects from concept through launch. Youll work closely with Operations Maintenance Quality Supply Chain and Product Engineering.
Specific Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on technical expertise across CNC machining turning milling grinding honing and broaching - including troubleshooting issues that affect safety quality delivery or cost
Establish and optimize process parameters (speeds/feeds tool life coolant work-holding tooling strategy) and own equipment tooling fixture and gauging processes
Lead capital and engineering projects from scope through installation commissioning and final acceptance including procurement RFQs and ROI analyses
Serve as the plants subject matter expert on machining technology mentoring engineers and technicians and driving cross-functional problem-solving
Lead continuous improvement efforts - cost reduction waste elimination and root-cause corrective action
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Engineering Technology or a related field
4 years of manufacturing engineering experience with a focus on machined components and assemblies
Hands-on CNC machining expertise including fluency in G-code and M-code
Experience processing parts - sequencing operations to consistently produce quality results not just running the machine
Strong knowledge of tooling fixtures gauging and manufacturing systems with a track record of solving complex process problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with operations maintenance quality and suppliers
Preferences
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering or capital projects (machine replacements capacity increases cost-out initiatives)
CAM software experience (MasterCAM GibbsCAM or similar)
Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma or RCCA background
