I. Job Summary
The Senior Cloud and AI Architect is an experienced advanced-level professional responsible for creating the design and implementation of secure scalable and ethical AI solutions to support government and public service missions. This role combines deep AI/ML expertise with architectural leadership to modernize public sector operations improve citizen engagement and drive data-informed decision-making all while maintaining compliance transparency and trust.
This position requires advanced skills in multiple areas of architecture with expert or specialized knowledge in cloud platforms and AI. The architect will communicate with stakeholders at all levels support multiple teams and projects and mentor other architects. A key responsibility is to work with GTA to design develop and implement IT architecture AWS cloud implementations and advanced AI/ML solutions across State Agencies.
General Duties:
Plans and schedules team resources status reporting and completion of required documentation for team assignments and projects.
Analyzes and develops work or project plans for team assignments.
Analyzes and implements solutions and supervises subordinates.
II. Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Required Experience:
10 Years: Experience with the concepts philosophies and tools behind the design of applications solution architecture and underlying information technologies.
5 Years: Enterprise full-life cycle architecture experience in the professional IT/Software Development services industry.
5 Years: Hands-on technical application architecture experience including application build and modernization (Narrative specifies 5-8 years preferred).
5 Years: Evaluating architectural alternatives for private public and hybrid cloud models (IaaS PaaS and other cloud services).
3 Years: Experience with cutting-edge AI technologies in developing chatbots and generative AI (GenAI) and LLM deployment for public sector use cases.
3 Years: Experience with AI ethics bias mitigation and responsible AI frameworks.
3 Years: Evaluating and recommending AI platforms frameworks and tools (e.g. Azure ML AWS SageMaker Google Vertex AI PyTorch).
3 Years: Designing secure and compliant AI/ML solutions leveraging public cloud or hybrid environments.
Required Degree: Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Data Science or equivalent work experience.
Required Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Note: Candidate MUST upload a copy of this certification with their submission).
Additional Core Qualifications:
Extensive experience architecting designing and programming applications to operate in AWS environments.
Strong technical expertise in machine learning deep learning and natural language processing.
Understanding of public sector security and compliance standards (e.g. FedRAMP FISMA NIST AI RMF NIST 800-53).
Knowledge of integration standards and best practices for cloud and AI systems.
Prior work with federal state or municipal digital transformation programs.
Highly Desired Experience:
Experience with state and local Government is a plus.
