Position Overview

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Civil Project Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to aviation airport and civil infrastructure projects within American Infrastructure Development Inc.s growing Tampa team.

Depending on experience the selected professional may operate at the Project Engineer Senior Project Engineer or developing Project Manager level. The position can be structured around the candidates technical capabilities professional licensure aviation experience and readiness to assume greater project and client leadership responsibilities.

This role offers exposure to the complete project lifecycle including civil design technical production project coordination permitting construction administration field support and client interaction. The strongest fit will be a self-starter who takes ownership of assignments communicates proactively identifies potential project challenges and wants to develop into a stronger technical and project leader.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee civil engineering designs calculations plans specifications reports and technical documentation
• Use Autodesk Civil 3D to develop and review surfaces alignments profiles corridors grading plans pipe networks utility layouts and construction documents
• Perform or oversee civil design for runways taxiways aircraft aprons airport access roads parking areas and associated aviation infrastructure
• Prepare grading drainage stormwater earthwork erosion-control utility and site-development designs
• Develop construction plan sets technical specifications engineering reports quantity calculations and construction cost estimates
• Evaluate design alternatives and recommend practical cost-effective engineering solutions
• Coordinate civil improvements with airport facilities utilities architecture aviation planning construction and operational requirements
• Apply applicable FAA FDOT municipal county environmental and airport-specific design standards
• Participate in technical reviews and AIDs formal quality-assurance and quality-control processes
• Review work prepared by junior engineers designers and CAD professionals
• Ensure technical deliverables are accurate complete and submitted according to project schedules
• Coordinate with architects aviation planners engineers surveyors environmental professionals contractors and airport representatives
• Lead portions of civil and aviation infrastructure projects based on experience
• Assign and coordinate work with junior engineers and designers
• Assist project managers with scope schedule budget quality and client-delivery responsibilities
• Monitor project progress and communicate potential schedule budget and technical concerns
• Participate in project meetings design workshops client presentations and coordination discussions
• Build and maintain productive relationships with clients agencies contractors and project partners
• Support proposal preparation project pursuits and business-development activities when appropriate
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and contribute to their technical development
• Prepare or oversee permit applications and supporting technical documentation

• Support pay-application reviews quantity verification and change-order evaluation when required
• Participate in substantial-completion inspections punch-list development and project closeout
• Support construction phasing within active and operational airport environments

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Experience: Approximately 515 years of relevant civil engineering site-development transportation or infrastructure design experience
• Software: Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D
• Civil Design: Experience preparing civil construction plans and technical design documents
• Infrastructure: Experience with grading drainage stormwater utilities pavement site development roadway or related civil infrastructure
• Technical Knowledge: Ability to interpret surveys geotechnical information design criteria specifications and construction documents
• Project Coordination: Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of civil permitting and regulatory requirements
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensure: Florida Professional Engineer license
• PE Mobility: Professional Engineer license in another state with the ability to obtain Florida registration
• EIT: Engineer-in-Training certification for candidates who have not yet obtained a PE
• Aviation Experience: Previous aviation or airport engineering experience
• Airfield Design: Experience with runway taxiway aircraft apron or airfield pavement projects
• FAA Knowledge: Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and airport design standards
• Florida Experience: Familiarity with FDOT standards and Florida permitting requirements
• Transportation: Experience with roadway or transportation infrastructure
• Additional Software: Experience with AutoCAD Storm and Sanitary Analysis Hydraflow ICPR AutoTURN Bluebeam or similar engineering software
• Construction: Experience with construction administration field observation or contractor coordination
• Stormwater: Familiarity with stormwater modeling utility design and regulatory permitting
• Project Management: Experience managing design tasks project budgets or project schedules

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $100000$145000 depending on experience Civil 3D proficiency professional licensure aviation exposure technical leadership and project-management capabilities
• Lower portion of the range generally aligned with engineers possessing approximately 57 years of experience and strong Civil 3D capabilities who are developing toward independent project leadership
• Middle portion of the range generally aligned with experienced Project Engineers or Senior Project Engineers who can lead design assignments coordinate project teams and communicate directly with clients
• Upper portion of the range generally aligned with professionals bringing a Florida PE license aviation experience project-management capabilities client relationships or the ability to lead significant portions of a civil or aviation infrastructure program
