About the Role

A ForMotion Sr. Certified Orthotic and/or Prosthetic Practitioner Assistant serves as a clinical extender to the certified practitioner demonstrating increased independence in providing patient care. This role supports more complex fittings modifications and follow-ups and may serve as a mentor to entry-level assistants or technicians. The senior assistant is proactive in improving workflow device quality and patient outcomes.

What Youll Do

  • Independently manage standard patient encounters including measurements fittings adjustments and patient education within ABC scope of practice.

  • Collaborate closely with clinicians during evaluations and device planning.

  • Lead minor modifications and troubleshooting of orthoses and prostheses.

  • Act as a liaison between practitioner and fabrication teams.

  • Contribute to training of new assistants or clinical staff.

  • Ensure quality assurance through consistent documentation compliance reviews and fabrication follow-ups.

  • Attend interdisciplinary clinics and participate in patient care planning.

  • Assist in clinical workflow improvements and inventory processes.

  • Maintain awareness of current trends techniques and ABC policies in O&P care.

Work Environment

  • Frequent standing walking bending squatting and reaching.

  • Manual dexterity for fine motor tasks including casting and fabrication.

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Visual acuity for detailed work including alignment and adjustments.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in orthotics and prosthetics or related field preferred

  • ABC Certification as a Certified Assistant (COA CPA or CPOA)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified assistant in an O&P setting

  • Demonstrated competency in independent patient management and device modification

  • Willingness to travel 12 days per week as needed
