Key job responsibilities
Establish multi year category sourcing strategies lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize Amazons competitive position
Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers with a principal objective of achieving the optimal solution and cost of ownership that meets the business goals supported by a culture of continuous improvement with performance benchmarks in use
Manage category suppliers to proactively identify monitor and optimize opportunities
Act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed
Drive category suppliers in Supplier Relationship Management activities to mitigate risk improve performance and add value to Amazon
Identify achieve and report on savings and value targets for category sourcing activities
Align with internal customers and understand the business application of the categor

Were seeking leaders to join our Global Procurement Operations (GPO) CAPEX Equipment Category Team where strategic thinking meets operational excellence to power Amazons fulfillment network. As part of our diverse procurement team youll help manage critical categories that keep our vast logistics operations running efficiently.

As we continue growing we need leaders who can help raise the bar in category sourcing procurement excellence and drive our fulfillment network forward with passion and purpose.
- Bachelors degree in supply chain business engineering finance or related technical or quantitative field
- 5 years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations global contract management process improvement operational and financial analysis experience
- Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions evaluate outcomes and make data-driven decisions
- Experience working cross-functionally across several teams both technical and non-technical
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switchgear UPS transformers and circuit breakers
- Masters degree or MBA in Business Engineering Energy Management Economics or related field
- Direct experience in energy infrastructure power systems distributed energy or onsite generation procurement (generators microgrids BESS fuel cells)
- Experience negotiating complex multi-year CapEx or Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS/PPA) agreements for infrastructure or equipment
- Experience with financial modeling (NPV TCO payback analysis) for energy infrastructure or capital equipment investments
- Knowledge of power infrastructure supply chain dynamics (generators BESS fuel cells microgrid controllers) including lead times supply constraints and OEM landscape
- Experience managing strategic supplier relationships at scale (quarterly business reviews performance KPIs capacity planning supplier consolidation strategies)
- Experience with utility market participation demand response programs energy arbitrage or grid services revenue optimization
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (interconnection processes permitting emissions compliance) and their impact on power infrastructure deployment timelines

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
