$34.75 - $51.51 Hourly


Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.


Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.

Example of Duties

Under general supervision this position provides information to the public and municipal departments regarding matters related to the acquisition of supplies professional services and construction services on behalf of the Municipality of Anchorage. Determine appropriate methods of source selection for request for quotations formal invitation to bids and request for proposals (RFPs). Review analyze and recommend action on professional services statements of work and detailed construction bid specifications. Develop solicit receive and analyze responses from bidders and proposers to formal bidding processes. Prepare and process bid addendum RFP addendum as necessary contract change orders and negotiates where applicable construction contract award documents Assembly Memorandum documents for professional service contract award approval documents for supplies and miscellaneous services contracts award approvals and formal contract amendments. Conduct pre-bid/post-proposal meetings and ensures confidentiality of proposals in accordance with Anchorage Municipal code requirements.
