Senior Life Sciences Broker North America

The Senior Life Sciences Broker is responsible for developing marketing and placing complex insurance and risk management solutions for clients operating across the life sciences industry including biotechnology pharmaceutical medical device diagnostics digital health contract research organizations (CROs) and related sectors. This role serves as a trusted advisor to clients providing deep industry knowledge and carrier relationships to deliver strategic insurance solutions that support innovation growth and risk mitigation.

As a senior member of the Life Sciences Broking Placement Team this individual will help shape multiline placement strategy for some of the organizations most complex clients. Working closely with client advocates producers industry leaders and carrier partners the Senior Broker will leverage deep marketplace expertise analytics-driven insights and innovative program design strategies to deliver superior client outcomes while optimizing total cost of risk. The role requires strong leadership sophisticated negotiation skills and the ability to influence market strategy across a broad portfolio of complex property and casualty placements.

The Role

  • Serve as the lead broker and strategic advisor for life sciences clients.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of client operations risk exposures growth strategies and regulatory environments.
  • Provide consultative guidance on insurance program design risk financing and emerging industry risks.
  • Lead renewal strategy discussions and present insurance solutions to executive stakeholders.
  • Foster long-term client relationships through proactive engagement and exceptional service.
  • Design market negotiate and place complex insurance programs across multiple lines of coverage.
  • Develop tailored solutions for life sciences organizations at various stages of development from early-stage biotech startups to multinational enterprises.
  • Negotiate favorable terms pricing and coverage enhancements with insurance carriers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with domestic and international insurance markets.
  • Participate in industry conferences networking events and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Collaborate with producers client executives and subject matter experts to develop winning client strategies.
  • Contribute to revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Stay current on emerging trends affecting life sciences organizations including clinical development product commercialization regulatory changes intellectual property risks and cybersecurity threats.
  • Provide market intelligence and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide mentoring coaching and technical guidance to developing brokers and junior team members.
  • Contribute to the development of life sciences-focused products services and best practices.



Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Risk Management Life Sciences Finance or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of insurance broking underwriting or risk management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience serving life sciences biotechnology pharmaceutical or medical technology clients.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and specialty life sciences risks.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate exposures claims and financial information.
  • Proven track record of client retention and business development success.
  • Excellent negotiation presentation and relationship management skills.
  • Active Property & Casualty/Suplus lines insurance licenses (or ability to obtain and maintain as required).
  • Professional designations such as CPCU ARM CRM CIC or RPLU preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and other business applications.
  • Established relationships within the life sciences insurance marketplace.
  • Experience working with global insurance programs.
  • Advanced understanding of clinical trial and product liability exposures.
