Caterpillars Resource Industries division is seeking aSenior Associate Testing and Validation Engineer to supporttheElectrification Teamat our Tucson Proving Ground in Green Valley AZ.This role is central to advancingbattery electric machines and charging solutions including CatDynamic Energy Transfer (DET) helping to support Caterpillar customers transition to a more sustainable future.

Yourprimaryfocus will be ondirectly supporting theCatDynamic Energy Transfer (DET)system.You willensureproper system functionalityand meet Caterpillarshigh qualitystandards and customer expectations. You wont just testsolutionsyoull influence the future of sustainable mining.

What Youll Do:

Lead Testing Projects:Plan and execute testing and developmentfor current and next generationcharging solutions for capable vehicles and assets.

Drive Safety & Quality:Make safety your top priority and champion continuous improvement in every aspect ofelectrificationtesting.

Leverage Data:Use tools like Excel Tableau(Data Analysis Tool Kit)DATKCANapeand MicrosoftOffice to turn raw data into actionable insights.

Solve Complex Challenges:Apply your hands-on skills and technical knowledge to troubleshoot and validate a variety of complex electrical electronic and software systems.

Own the Process:Collaborate with extended engineering software and technology teams develop test plans document standard work procedures execute checkouts and validation activities and analyze results.

Continuous Improvement:Document and share ideas to enhance safety efficiency product performance and customer value.

Collaborate & Innovate:Work closely with on-site engineers technicians and operators to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Handson realworld work
This is not a deskonly role. Youll be out in the field working directly with machines supporting test execution and seeing technology perform in real operating environments. If you enjoy combining leadership with handson engineering this role delivers both.

What Skills You Will Have:

Technical Excellence:Experience in testing or validation within heavy equipment automotive or industrial machinery.

Product Testing:Experience designing and executing testing strategies. Experience with construction forestry mining or agricultural equipment is a plus.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems:Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to machine software and controls. Use tools such as CATElectronic TechnicianCANape and Cadet for machine functionality.

Education Requirement:Degree in an accredited Engineering Computer Scienceorrelatedengineeringor technologydiscipline.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience withdevelopingoperating troubleshooting and improvingCatDynamic Energy Transferor similarenergy transfer solutions and methodologies

  • Experience with TCE DATK SuperComm 2 Cadet Caterpillar Electronic Technician CANape and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to manage multiple software applications.

  • Background in product development machine testing mining or electrical/electronic systems.

  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in varied conditions (indoor/outdoor hot/cold dusty).

  • Ability to safely operate equipment after training.

Additional Information:

  • This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Tucson Proving Ground in Green Valley AZ.

  • Employees at this location enjoy a9/80 schedule which provides anadditional 26 days off per year enhancing work-life balance.

  • Domestic Relocation:Relocation assistance is not available for qualified candidates.

  • This role might require up to 10% travel.
