Job Summary
Senior Associate - Lender Due Diligence Location: Hybrid (New York NY or Chicago IL) The Opportunity: Our client is seeking a Senior Associate to support lender due diligence and financial risk advisory engagements within the financial services sector. This individual will work closely with engagement teams and client stakeholders on transaction-related reviews operational risk initiatives and internal control assessments across a variety of financial institutions. This role is well suited for professionals with prior exposure to lending environments transaction support internal audit or risk consulting who are looking to broaden their experience in a dynamic advisory setting. Primary Areas of Focus:
- Lead and support lender due diligence activities tied to credit and transaction assessments
- Evaluate operational processes internal controls and risk management frameworks
- Assist in the execution of internal audit and compliance-related engagements
- Analyze documentation identify control gaps and summarize findings for stakeholders
- Prepare client-facing deliverables including testing results observations and recommendations
- Participate in walkthroughs and discussions with management teams to assess key risks and controls
- Monitor engagement progress timelines and deliverable quality
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams throughout engagements
- Bachelors or advanced degree in Accounting Finance Business or a related discipline
- 2 years of relevant experience within risk advisory audit lender due diligence or financial controls environments
- Background within financial services including banking lending capital markets or asset management preferred
- Prior hands-on experience supporting lender due diligence engagements is required
- Strong analytical thinking written communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in deadline-driven environments
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Exposure to tools such as SQL Power BI or Alteryx is considered a plus
- CPA CIA or related professional certification preferred or currently in progress
- Contract/temporary engagement with possibility for extension
- Hybrid work arrangement
- Limited travel may be required depending on project needs
