Department Summary The University of North Texas competes as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the American Athletic Conference. North Texas athletic programs are classified as NCAA Division I the largest and highest division among all colleges and universities. The 46000 square-foot Athletic Center located off South Bonnie Brae Street is the centerpiece of North Texas athletics. Position Overview UNT Athletics is seeking a dynamic experienced leader to serve as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities Events and Capital Projects. This is a senior leadership position within the athletics department reporting directly to the Associate Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and serving as a member of the departments Senior Leadership Team. This individual will oversee all aspects of athletic facilities game and event operations and capital project planning and execution across Mean Green Athletics serving as the departments primary strategic and operational leader for the physical spaces where UNT competes trains and welcomes fans donors and recruits. Depending on the experience and background of the selected candidate this role may also carry sport program administrator responsibilities. This is a high-impact role for a builder who thrives on solving complex operational challenges leading people and delivering a first-class gameday and facility experience at a program on the rise. |
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in in related field and five years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience. |
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to facilities construction procurement and event operations (or ability to rapidly assimilate); strong planning and project management skills; ability to direct and manage the work of others; sound judgment under the pressure of live events and competing deadlines; and a collaborative service-oriented leadership style. |
Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in athletics administration sport management business construction management or a related field. |
