Senior Assembler
Position is located at our Johnstown PA facility
Full-time Onsite
Daylight shift with option of 5 6 or 7 am starting time/schedule.
Martin-Baker Americas Senior Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to nonrepetitive production assembly operations. The Senior Assembler serves as a resource to other team members in the supervisors absence and works on assignments with moderate difficulty that require a high level of skill and expertise. Individuals in this role must work well with minimal supervision build positive relationships with team members and perform effectively in a highpressure environment.
Essential Responsibilities: Execute prioritized work in the absence of the department supervisor and accurately record all work performed using SAP transactions reservations USCP and floor stock documentation.
- Train and mentor the assembly team while maintaining strict adherence to all safety rules PPE guidelines and a FODfree work area.
- Ensure assembly areas are cleaned at the end of each shift when the supervisor is unavailable and conducts daily fiveminute meetings as needed.
- Be fully trained across all assembly stages and support Manufacturing Engineering in building first articles by accurately interpreting prints and specifications when no defined process exists.
- Assist the department supervisor in developing build plans and work instructions and participate in ongoing training related to hazardous materials procedures and workplace safety.
- Work independently with flexibility adapting procedures and techniques to meet special requirements across varied assignments while balancing quality productivity cost safety and morale.
- Interface with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Control to relay product issues and progress updates when acting in the supervisors absence. Ensure daily completion of departmental 6S standards ATAF and tool logs.
- Demonstrate strong attendance and punctuality leading by example and complying with all Martin-Baker America operating procedures and work instructions.
Who should apply Individuals with strong communication skills capable of delivering clear and accurate verbal and written information to supervisors and production employees.
Candidates should possess substantial technical ability including the use of computers interpreting complex blueprints and drawings using hand and power tools and operating pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. They should also be able to assemble components using adhesives and sealants perform minor machine adjustments and utilize inspection equipment.
Strong leadership qualities effective task management and demonstrated teamwork skills are essential for success in this role. Applicants should have at least seven years of manufacturing experience a high school diploma or GED and the physical ability to perform job duties such as standing bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Candidates with the following experience are wellsuited for this role: Extensive manufacturing experience (7 years) with proven technical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret complex build documentation and perform handson assembly work with precision.
- Prior experience supporting multiple product lines or performing testing technical work and maintenance in manufacturing environments.
