Senior Applied Scientist, C360

Were working to improve shopping on Amazon using the conversational capabilities of large language models and are searching for pioneers who are passionate about technology innovation and customer experience and are ready to make a lasting impact on the industry. Youll be working with talented scientists engineers and technical program managers (TPM) to innovate on behalf of our customers.

Were looking for scientists with deep LLM expertise to help us build the next generation of large language models. Our team focuses on post-training including instruction tuning reward modeling reinforcement learning and aligning LLMs with other embedding modalities.

In this role you will design and run large-scale experiments analyze model behavior and develop new training recipes that directly improve core capabilities like reasoning personalized experiences and other frontier paradigms that redefine what LLMs can do.

- 3 years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD or Masters degree and 6 years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java C Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

- Experience with modeling tools such as R scikit-learn Spark MLLib MxNet Tensorflow numpy scipy etc.
- Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop Spark etc.
