Senior Accountant Supporting our Owatonna Location
As the Senior Accountant you will lead manufacturing cost accounting activities while supporting broader accounting and financial reporting functions. Youll work closely with operations leaders to provide insights that improve business performance ensure financial accuracy and support growth initiatives.
What the role involves:
- Developing and maintaining labor and overhead rates used in standard costing
- Monitoring and updating raw material standard costs
- Establishing standard costs for newly created products and parts
- Analyzing manufacturing operations inventory overhead product costs and profitability
- Leading month-end close activities and investigating financial variances
- Managing inventory reserves and inventory valuation processes
- Leading cycle count programs and year-end physical inventories
- Assisting with budgeting forecasting and cost of goods sold analysis
- Supporting capital expenditure projects and fixed asset tracking
- Preparing financial reports and providing recommendations to management
- Overseeing AP/AR Analyst responsibilities including cash receipts and accounts payable functions
- Supporting external audits and compliance activities

What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous Cost Accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into operational recommendations
