Overview
A well-established mission-driven organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a hands-on role ideal for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys contributing to meaningful community-focused work.
- Support and execute the monthly close process including journal entries and reconciliations
- Maintain and manage the general ledger ensuring proper classification across programs and grants
- Prepare financial reports schedules and account analyses
- Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis
- Support grant accounting compliance and reporting requirements
- Contribute to audit preparation and external audit requests
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insight and reporting support
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting workflows
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 37 years of accounting experience with non-profit exposure strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with:
- Month-end close
- Account reconciliations
- Financial reporting
- Exposure to grant accounting fund accounting or donor-restricted funds preferred
- Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks Intacct or similar)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced mission-driven environment
- Strong exposure to nonprofit finance operations
