About the Role


Advantage Capital is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our 10 person accounting team. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy integrity and timeliness of our financial reporting while supporting our broader efforts to deliver forward-looking insights to leadership to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills sound judgment and a proactive approach to process improvement and is excited to work in an environment that increasingly leverages automation and AI to drive efficiency.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Prepare and maintain supporting documentation ensuring audit-readiness throughout the year

Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Prepare quarterly financial statements and support peer review processes to ensure accuracy and consistency

Partner with cross-functional teams to support month-end and quarter-end close processes

Mentor and provide guidance to staff accountants reviewing their work and supporting their professional development

Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes


REQUIRED SKILLS


Working knowledge of GAAP

Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work collaboratively across teams and take on tasks as needed to support broader team goals

Intellectual curiosity and sharp critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex problems


PREFERRED SKILLS


Experience with AI tools particularly in building or deploying agents to support accounting workflows


EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field

Three to five years of accounting experience preferably in public accounting

CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
