The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Senior Accountant in the Finance Department. The incumbent independently performs complex accounting and auditing activities associated with the financial records and reporting; provides technical direction to the accounting staff responsible for the accounting and auditing activities; acts as liaison for the financial reporting of the grant activities of the City; performs bank statement reconciliation; provides financial analysis and information to various departments and administration; responsible for the capital asset policies procedures and accounting support of various budget activities; assists the Deputy Finance director with the accuracy authenticity legality and authorization of the annual financial statements. High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience in finance and accounting preferably in municipal government is required. Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting marketing business administration finance etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree plus 5 years related experience and/or training and 12 to 18 months related management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. B.S. in accounting finance business or related field preferred with previous supervisory experience and CPA certification desired. Starting salary range: $28.6592-$30.3456/hr. DOQ.
