About the Role
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing both the accounting operations and financial planning & analysis functions. This position combines traditional accounting responsibilities with forward-looking financial analysis and strategic planning reporting directly to the assistant controller with significant exposure to the CFO.
What Youll Do:
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
- Assist FP&A team with business partnering and forecasting
- Manage and review account reconciliations journal entries balance sheetaccountsand tax requests/payments
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal control procedures
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits
- Review work ofaccounting / shared servicesstafffor accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with IT to enhance financial systems and automate manual processes
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as needed
Who You Are:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting FinanceCPArequired
- 3-5years of progressive experience in accounting and financial analysis
- Big 4 or top 10 accounting firm experiencehighlypreferred
- Advanced Excel skills (vlookup/pivots/sumifs/financial modeling)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Other preferences
- Familiarity with trade lifecycle and settlement accounting forequitiesfuturesandoptions
- Experience with broker-dealer regulatory reportingstrongly preferred
