Job Summary
POSITION DETAILS
The Defense Account Manager develops and manages sales activities with prospective and existing direct customer accounts within the naval defense market. Responsible for sale of pumps valves and associated equipment including electric motors and actuators. Develops long-term relationships with key customer accounts. Acts as voice of the customer to the organization.
Principal Activities
Primary Point of Contact for customer representatives such as buyers engineers and other professional and technical personnel at shipyards OEMs and other businesses to influence prospective clients of the value and performance of products or services offered.
Reviews RFQs specifications drawings plans and other customer documents to develop and prepare proposals and quotations.
Coordinates project management functions for major contracts including contract review and dissemination of flow down requirements tracking of progress and document submittals.
Investigates and resolves customer problems such as deliveries.
Provide customer reporting as needed in a timely and organized manner.
Work closely with other departments including; operations quality supply chain and engineering to assist in resolving issues affecting customers
Coordinate and process milestone payments.
Organize and manage customer program reviews
Represent company at industry meetings and trade shows.
Assist finance with rates compliance and in resolving collection issues.
Education & Experience
Typically requires a minimum level of knowledge that is acquired through a four-year college degree preferably in Engineering and Five years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Naval defense or maritime industry experience with Knowledge of shipboard fluid systems pumps and valves preferred.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Must have strong writing planning and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively both with internal and external customers
Must be a team player and have effective communication interpersonall and team building skills and be able to manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment
Must be very organized and able to work under pressure situations.
Due to the nature of our defense products must be a US Citizen and be capable of obtaining a government clearance.
Education & Experience
