At SEMCO Energy Gas Company safety reliability and preparedness are foundational to how we serve our customers and communities. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Advisor Incident & Emergency Management to lead and continuously strengthen our emergency management program across our natural gas utility this highly visible role you will serve as the organizations subject matter expert for emergency preparedness incident management crisis response and operational resilience. You will partner closely with leaders across operations engineering safety security environmental public affairs and regulatory functions to ensure SEMCO is prepared to effectively respond to and recover from emergencies operational disruptions severe weather events and other critical incidents. What Youll Do

• Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of SEMCOs Incident & Emergency Management Program

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans procedures playbooks and readiness tools that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

• Support emergency response activities including Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations Incident Command System (ICS) operations severe weather events infrastructure disruptions and crisis situations

• Coordinate emergency preparedness initiatives risk assessments resilience planning and operational readiness activities across the utility

• Design and facilitate emergency exercises training programs tabletop simulations and drills to strengthen organizational preparedness

• Lead after-action reviews and corrective action processes to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with emergency management agencies regulators public safety organizations industry partners and community stakeholders

• Provide leadership briefings preparedness reporting and strategic recommendations to support operational and executive decision-making

What Youll Bring

• 8 years of progressive experience in emergency management utility operations public safety crisis management business continuity security or a related discipline

• Experience supporting emergency response operations preparedness programs incident investigations exercises and operational resilience initiatives

• Strong knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS) Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) emergency response principles and crisis management practices

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders during complex or high-pressure situations

• Excellent communication facilitation relationship-building and project management skills

• Utility energy critical infrastructure or industrial operations experience is strongly preferred

• Professional certifications such as CEM FEMA Professional Development Series Business Continuity certifications or advanced ICS training are considered assets

• Bachelors degree in Emergency Management Public Safety Homeland Security Engineering Environmental Science Business Continuity or a related field

We offer a competitive salary range of $99500 to $144425 per year commensurate with experience education and addition we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance retirement plans and paid time off.
