Job Summary

Segment Supplier Quality Engineer

Segment Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is a key role at Autoliv and is responsible for working with external suppliers to develop robust processes and deliver high quality parts. Serial SQE is involved from the pre-qualification of the supplier through the successful launch of components. Activities include verification of suppliers use of industry standards Autoliv Standards review of suppliers agreed to production lines/practices and follow-up on non-conforming materials and events to closure. The Serial SQE will work with internal teams such as Project Launch Purchasing Engineering and other Quality teams to plan quality events and resolve issues. Manage PPAP/PSW approvals for external suppliers.

In this role you will beresponsible for
  • Lead supplier quality activities for new product development and launch programs.

  • Manage APQP and PPAP processes to ensure supplier readiness and compliance.

  • Collaborate with Engineering Purchasing and suppliers on feasibility reviews quality planning and component approvals.

  • Monitor supplier performance project milestones and quality deliverables to meet launch timing requirements.

  • Conduct supplier audits production trials Run-at-Rate events and process assessments.

  • Drive root cause analysis corrective actions and resolution of supplier quality issues through 8D methodology.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards supplier requirements and documentation processes.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives supplier development and lessons learned implementation.

  • Act as the primary quality contact for suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Travel to supplier locations as needed to support project and quality activities.

What is required:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering required

  • 3-5 years of automotive industry and/or engineering experience.

  • Experience in deployment and/or auditing of APQP PPAP 8D FMEA SPC VDA

  • Knowledgeable in IATF 16949 / VDA and ISO 14001 requirements

  • Experience in managing projects

  • Excels at oral and written communication skills
